SUPPORT FOR LIQUID-SOAP CONTAINERS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 9, 1921.
Application filed January 20, 1921. Serial No. 438,732.
will enable others skilledin the art to whichv it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to an improved sup port for liquid soap containers such as are found in wash rooms and toilets.
The object of the invention is to provide a support of this type which is adapted for vertical disposition over a wash basin, the same being provided at one end with a simple clamp for connection to conventional types of containers, and being provided at its opposite end with a novel clamp which has, within a reasonable limit, a very great range of adjustment permitting it to be connected to practically all sizes of water faucets now in use, said clamp embodying means to prevent excessive movement of the device after it is once properly positioned.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent during the course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same:
Figure l is an elevational view of a conventional type of washbasin equipped with a support constructed in accordance with this invention;
Fig. 2 is an enlarged elevational view of the support. i
Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view of the clamp at the lower end of the support which is desi ed for connection to the faucet.
i 5 is a section taken on the line 55 of F 1g. 4 and looking in the direction of the arrow.
In the drawings, wherein the preferred embodiment of the invention, is clearly illus trated, it will be seen that the numeral 1 designates a supporting bracket which includes a central relatively long portion 2, the upper end of which is directed forward and laterally as indicated at 3 and is provided at its outer end with an integral. ringlike resilient clamp 4 for connection to the lower end of the liquid soap container as disclosed in Fig. 1. The lower end of the bracket is directed laterally in an opposite direction as indicated at5 and this portion carries an integral substantially rectangular fiat head 6 which constitutes a part of the means for connecting the bracket to one of the faucets. its longitudinal edges with a relatively large notch 7 which constitutes a seat, this seat being adapted for receiving a portion of the faucet therein. The remainder of the clamp at this end is in the form of a U-shaped yoke which has its opposite ends threaded and extended through passages 9 with which the head 6 is provided. It is to be noted that the ends of the passages or-recesses 9 adjacent the seats 7 are enlarged quite abit and the walls nearest the seat are curved as indicated at 10 to permit the connecting portion of the yoke to be drawn into tight engagement with them if found necessary in The head 6 is formed in one of order to secure the device on very small faucets. Nuts 11 serve to adjust the yoke. The manner of connecting the clamp 4; to
thesoap holder and the manner of connecting the device itself'to a faucet is thought to be obvious from the description anddrawings. Therefore, it is thought unnecessary to go llllDO. detall as to the-manner of using the device;
From the foregoing description, it will be seen that I have devised a simple and faucet, is extremely novel since it enables the device to be connected with practically all types of faucets regardless of their size.
' I claim:
A device of the class described comprising a bracket adapted for vertical disposition, the upper end thereof being directed laterally and formed with an integral clamp-ring for connection to a liquid soap-dispensing jaw, the other end of the bracket being directed laterally in an opposite direction and formed on its extremity with an integral fiat substantially rectangular head, the latter having a notch formed in its outer longitudinal edge for reception of a portion of a faucet, said head being also formed on opposite sides of said notch with recesses extend- 111g therethrough and enlarged at their outer ends and the walls thereof nearest the notch being curved, a U-shaped yoke having its ends extended through said recesses, these ends being screw-threaded, and nuts 10 on said ends. i
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
