DANCING DOLL.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 31, 1921.
Application filed October 27, 1920. Serial No. 420,041.
zen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dancing Dolls, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide a new and improved form of dancing doll.
This and other objects of this invention will be fully illustrated in the drawings, described in the specification and pointed out in the claim at the end thereof.
In the drawing,
The figure is a perspective view of the doll and the support on which it is mounted.
In the drawings, like reference numeral indicate like parts.
In the drawings, reference numeral 1 indicates the base having a spring board 2 mounted thereon and connected thereto at one end thereof. On this spring board is pivotally mounted a handle 3 which is mounted to rock in a cross bar 4. A spring 51's provided between the forward end of the handle and the spring 2 by which the movement of the handle 3 will be yieldingly connected to the spring board 2. Mounted on the spring board 2 is an arm 6 made preferahly of spring wire, the forward end of which is upturned as indicated at 7 and the doll 8 is fastened thereto by means of a grooved plate, the groove of which is adapted to receive the upturned end of the wire so that the doll may be adjusted up and down thereon or turned to face in different directions. I
The doll is made with jointed arms and legs so that each member will swing freely in all directions and the doll is set on the spring 6 so that his feet will just rest on or clear the spring board.
By jiggling the arm 3 up and down, a spring movement will becommunicated to the spring board 2, which in turn will be communicated through the arm 6 to the body of the doll, and this will cause the feet of the doll to strike the vibrating board and cause the feet and legs to move in dancing movements of various kinds, which may be varied within considerable limits according to the wishes and skill of the operator.
I claim:
A dancing doll having a base, a spring board mounted thereon, a spring Wire mounted on the spring board and supporting the doll in an upright position, a spring arm for vibrating the spring board causing the boardand doll to move relative to each other and causing the feet of the doll to strike the spring board at regular or irregular intervals and producing a dancing movement of the doll.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
' JOHN (J. KEEL.
