Description

IVI. L. KAYSER.
lNK BOULE. APPLICATION FILED MAR.18.1920.

UNlTED STATES MARY LOUISE KAYSER, OF TYLER, TEXAS.
IN K-BOTTLE.
T all al1/0m t may concern.'
e it known that I, MARY L. KAYSER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of rlllyler, county of Smith and State of Texas, have invented a new and Improved Ink-Bottle, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to containers, and has reference more particularly to an ink bottle provided with screw threads so that said bottle may be unscrewed from its holder.
An object of this invention is to provide an ink bottle which is adapted to be screwed into a holder fastened to a desk or other object, said ink bottle being removable for cleaning or filling.
eference is to be had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which it is understood that the drawing illustrates only one form of the invention with certain modilications, and in which` Figure 1 is an elevation of a form of the ink bottle with. parts broken awayto disclose the construction.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the ink bottle shown in Fig. 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawing` by numerals, l0a indicates the cylindrical wall of an ink bottle which may be contracted to form a neck 17 and stoppered with a cork or the like. A section 18 of a bottom 11il is smaller in diameter than the wall 1()a and is provided with screw threads 12., which are adapted to engage similar screw threads on an annular collar 13a. The annular collar 13EL may be provided with a bottom 19 which is placed in a recess 20 of the desk Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed March 18, 1920. Serial No.
Patented May 10, 1921. 366,753.
15a. The recess 20 in the desk 15il may preferably, but not necessarily, be provided with screw threads which are adapted to engage the screw threads formed on the collar 13a so that said collar may be screwed into the desk. An annular outstanding flange 21 is formed around the upper edge of the collar 13a and said flange 21 may be secured to the desk 15al by means of screws 22 so that said collar 13a is prevented from unscrewing from said desk. The bottle is preferably constructed of glass, but any other suitable material may be used.
I would state in conclusion that while the illustrated example constitutes a practical embodiment of my invention, l do not limit myself strictly to the mechanical details herein illustrated, since manifestly the same can be considerably varied without departure from the spirit of the invention as defined t in the appended claim.
aving thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
In a bottle, a cylindrical wall, a neck formed on the upper end of said wall adapted to receive a stopper, a bottom formed on the other end of said wall, said bottom having a section of smaller diameter than that of said wall, screw threads formed yon said section, a collar provided with screw threads `adapted to engage the screw threads of said section, said collar being adapted to be screwed into a recess in a desk, a bottom formed on said collar, and an oustanding annular flange formed on said collar adapted to be secured to said desk.
MARY LOUISE KAYsER.
