' Application The improved bag holder and hopper is preferably constructed from a single blank, which when appropriately formed is adapted to be bent into a substantially rectangular shape to provide a bottom lateral ledge over which the upper edge of the bag is placed, and an upstanding wall against which the mouth edge of the bag may be drawn That portion of the blank above the upstanding wall is shaped to provide a hopper to direct material into the bag.

The invention also contemplates the provision of means whereby the bag holder and hopper, together with the connected bag may be readily and quickly supported in a rigid manner from a fixture, with the supporting means so arranged that the bag holder and hopper is wholly at one side of the fixture to avoid interference with the introduction of material into the bag.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a plan of the blank formed to provide the improved bag holder and hopper.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the completely folded blank, and the bag holding means and bag holder supports in position.

The preferred form of bag holder of the present invention is constructed from a metallic blank in sheet form, and, as best seen in Fig. 1 formed to provide identical side portions 1 and 2 and identical end portions 3 and 4. The division of these portions is Specification of Letters Patent.

A holding pin 15 is secured in what may be termed the rear side of the bag holder, being secured in the wall 12 above the flange 11. A hook 16 of approximately U form, with a comparatively long bill is pivotally supported from the upstanding edge 14 in line with the pin 15.

The supporting means described, when artioned that. the cooperating hooks project beyond one side edge of the holder. In applying the bag holder and connected bag to a support, as a platform, shell, or the like,

The hook member 20 is then moved to engage the up per surface of said bag holder and bag will be connected and rigidly supported from the fixture, while yet permitting its convenient removal.

In Fig. 6 there is shown a modified form in which the bag holder is made up of a rectangular frame 22, to which the bag may be secured in any convenient manner, as by a metallic strip 23 extended over the edge of the holder and embracing the bag, fastening means 24 holding the parts connected. In this form the supporting means described in connection with the preferred form is also used.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is

1. A bag holder having an intermediate upstanding wall, a downwardly and outwardly flaring flange at the lower edge of said wall adapted to hold an open bag thereon, an upwardly and outwardly flaring flange at the. upper edge of said wall, and an upstanding edge portion at the outer edge of said upper flange.

A bag holder having an intermediate upstanding wall, a downwardly and outwardly flaring flange at the lower edge of said wall, an upwardly and outwardly flaring flange at the upper edge of said wall, and an upstanding edge portion at the outer edge of said upper flange, in combination with a holding pin projecting from the up standing wall and a hook member cooperating with said pin and pivotally supported on the upstandingedge of the holder.

3. A bag holder having an intermediate upstanding wall, a downwardly and outwardly flaring flange said wall, an upwardly and outwardly flaring fiange at the upper edge of said wall, and an upstanding edge portion at the outer edge of said upper flange, a supporting hook secured to the upstanding edge of said holder and a cooperating hook pivoted to EARL W.
