Be it known that I, thPOLLQS, 1;, Aims, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tacoma, in the county, of,- Pierceand State of lVashington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fountain- Syringes; and I do hereby declare the fol lowing to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in fountain syringes. I
The object of this invention is to provide means, by which any ordinary' fruit jar, bottle or the like may be substituted for rubber bags or reservoirs now commonly in use in such syringes.
A still further object of this invention is to provide a novel cap, which is equipped within a supporting means and an outlet to which a rubber tube may be connected and has an air inlet, and this capinay be readily secured to a suitable jar, bottle or the like, thus constituting a fountain syringe. 1
A. still further object of this inventionis to provide a fountain syringe of this character, which will be simple, practical and comparatively inexpensive in construction.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described and set forth in the claims hereto appended.

Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 indicates a bottleor jar of the ordinary construction having a neck 2, which is pro-i vided with exterior screwthreads 3.

The cap 4 is also provided with an opening 10, which has formed integrally around the walls thereof, the inwardly extending vertical pipe 11, which pipe has its inner end terminating at a short distance from the bottom of the bottle, as clearly shown in Fig. 2, and thus constitutes an air inlet to permit the free flow of the contents from the bottle out through the pipe 7 and tube 8 when the bottle is in an inverted position.
A supporting member designated in its entirety by the numeral 12 comprises a vertical arm 13, which has its lower end bent angularly as at 1 i and is adapted to be an ranged in a substantially horizontal plane and has its extreme end secured to the outer side of the cap las at 15, thus spacingfthe vertical arm 13 or arranging the same'in close proximity to the wall of the jar or bottle 1;
The upper end of the supporting arm 13 extends upwardly beyond the plane of the bottom 16 of the jar l as at 17 and is provided adjacent its end with an opening 18,
which facilitates the securing of the arm to a nail which is driven into a support for holding the bottle in an inverted position to permit its contents to run out of the tube and nozzle.
To operate the device, the cap is removed from the bottle or jar, and the bottle 1 is filled with liquid to be injected, the cap is then removably of the jar or bottle, the bottle or jar is then inverted and the supporting arm 13 is artrolled by pressing thetube at the point indicated by the letter A, thus cutting it oil or permitting 'it'to flow freely as de-- sired. The pipe 1 1 permits an inlet of air into the bottle or jar 1, thus permitting the liquid to readily flow out through the tube 8 and nozzle 9 and the arm 13 facilitates the fitted on the screwthreads supporting of the device tothe Wall so as I to obviate the necessity of holding the jar by one when the syringe is ready for an operation. WVhen the bottle or jar is empty, it can be placed in an upright positionand refilled by simply removing the cap as in the initial operation.
What is claimed is: I
As a new article of manufacture, a cap having a liquid discharge pipe extended therefrom in one direction and a vent pipe extended in the opposite direction, and a suspending member carried by said cap, whereby the cap may be suspended in inverted position with an inverted conventional llquld container such as a preserve Jar secured thereon 1n inverted position to convert the jar into a fountain syringe, the
liquid discharge tube being adapted to receive a flexible nozzle carrying discharge tube.
