MEMORANDUM-CALENDAR.

To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that we, HENRY A. SOHRAMM and JACKSON D. TTAWKINS, citizens of the United States, residing at San Antonio, in the county of Bexar and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Memorandum-Calendars, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to calendars of that sort in which a pad of leaves is provided for exhibiting the calendar information and for receiving memoranda. In such calendars the pad has a number of leaves equal to the number of days in the year and each leaf is printed with calendar information relating to a particular date and has space for receiving memoranda associated with such dates.

The object of the present invention is to provide a memorandum calendar pad of the class described which may be used for two consecutive years. This is accomplished by having the days of one year progressively numbered upon one side of the leaves while the days of the next following year are numbered in reverse order upon the other side of the leaves and thus after all the leaves have been turned for the former year the calendar may be turned around and used for the succeeding year.

Another object of the invention is the production of a simple and eflicient filing wire for engaging the calendar leaves, means being provided whereby this filing wire may be easily attached to and detached from the stand.

A still further object of the invention is to generally improve upon memorandum calendars of this character by providing a device which will be extremely simple, durable and inexpensiv in construction., one which is efficient and reliable in operation and well adapted for the purpose for which it is designed.

With these and numerous other objects in view, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, the combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinai'ter fully described and claimed.

Calendars of the form provided by the invention will commonly be used upon the desk. For such use they are conveniently supported upon a holder such as indicated generally by the numeral 10. This holder 10 includes the slanting tables 11 which are spaced from each other so as to provide the opening 12 in which is situated the block 13. This block 13 is supported by the side walls 1 1 and is provided with the slanting upper surfaces 15 which are in alinement with the tables 11. A perforation extends centrally and transversely through the block 13 for receiving the bolt 16 whichis provided with a head on one end and threads for receiving the thumb-nuts 17. By referring to Fig. 6 of the drawing it will be seen that on side of the block 13 is provided with the U-shaped groove 18 which has its i elly below the perforation which receives the bolt 16. The other side of the block 13 is provided with two vertical grooves which correspond to the legs of the U- shaped groove 18 in the other side of the block.

A filing wire is carried by the block 13 and consists of the arches 20 which are formed from a single strand of wire and connected at one end by means of the connection 21 and the corresponding legs of the filing wire sit within the U-shaped slot 18 while the other legs are situated within the vertical slots provided on the other side of the block 13. In order to hold this filing wire in place there is provided the strips 23 and 2% which are held in place by means of the bolt 16 and nut 17 as is clearly shown in Figs. 2 and 3 of the drawing. -When it is desired to place the leaves upon the filing wire it will be readily seen that it will only be necessary to remove the nut 17 from the bolt 16 and the strip 2e may then be removed so that the connection 21 may be removed from under the bolt 16 and thus the filing wire may be lifted from engagement with the block 13 and the leaves 25 may be threaded or filed upon the filing wire, these leaves 25 being provided with the usual perforation 26. As shown in Fig. 1 the leaves leaves are turned upon the other table the first leaf will indicate the first day of the succeeding year, et cetera. For example, by referring to Figs. 4 and 5 of the drawing, it Will be seen that in Fig. 4, January 1, 1920 is shown and upon the reversed side of this leaf there will be, as shown in Fig. 5, December 81, 1921, or the last day of the succeeding year. Of course the next leat' would have January 2, 1920, and upon its reverse side December 30, 1921, et cetera.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, the construction and operation of the de vice will be readil understood without a more extended exp anation. As numerous changes in form proportion, and in the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of this invention, we do not wish to be limited to the construction herein shown and described other than is claimed.

Having thus described our invention what we claim as new is:

1. In a device of the class described the combination of a pair ofslanting tables having a space therebetween, a block carried within said space, a bolt passing transversely through said block, strips carrleoi by said bolt, a wire file carriedbetween said block and said strips.

2.7. In a device of the class described the combination of a pair of slanting tables situat ed so as to provide a space thereoetween, a block mounted within said space, a wire file carried by said block and strips engaging said file so as to hold same on said block.

3. In a device of the class described the combination of a pair of tables having a space therebetween, a block situated within said space, one side of said block provided with a U-shaped groove, the other side of said block provided with a pair of vertical grooves, a file adapted to be received in said grooves, a bolt passing transversely through said block, strips carried by said bolt so as to hold said file within said groove.
