FACE-POWDER BOX OR CONTAINER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 8, 1921.
Application led December 23, 1920. Serial No. 432,767.
To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, FRANK MoUsLnY, a subject of the King of England, residing at Priest Bridge, Mortlale, S. lV. 14, in the county of london, England, whose postotice address is Priest Bridge, Mortlake, S. 57. 14:, in the county of London, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in and Relating to Face-Powder Boxes or Containers, of which the following is a speciiication.
This invention relates to face-powder boxes or containers of the kind described in the specification of my United States Patent No. 1,355,412.
The object of the present invention is to produce a powder box or container of the indicated type provided with two compartments so as to be adapted to two different kinds of material, for example, ordinary face-powder and a coloring material, such as rouge cosmetic.
In the accompanying drawings Figure l is a top plan view of my improved face-powder boX or container;
Fig. 2 is a section taken on the line 2--2 in Fig. l; and
Fig. 3 is a bottom plan view of same.
The box or container A consists of two annular pieces a and a of some soft pliable or iiexible material, such asv leather or rubber, sewn or otherwise secured together at c and divided into two compartments by a partition piece of some flexible material al secured to one or both of the annular pieces. Each annular piece is provided with an aperture or mouth ZJ, b.
The powder-puit comprises a foundation or back B, also made of soft pliable or flexible material, on to which foundation or back the fur, swansdown, or other loose texture puff material B2 is secured in any welllmown manner.
The cosmetic-applying device D consists also of a backing of soft pliable or exible material, on to which backing the cosmeticcompletely to close said mouths when the l puff and device are inserted in the container as shown in Fig. 2. The puff and cosmeticapplying device are each provided with a loop or other handle, B and D respectively, by which they can be inserted into and withdrawn from their respective ,compartments in the container A.
C in Fig. 2 represents face-powder in a receptacle in the container, but the powder may, if so desired, be placed loose in the container.
Obviously both compartments may be used for face-powder or for cosmetic or other similar material, if so desired.
Having fully described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A combined face-powder container and a powder puff, said container being made of flexible or pliable material in the shape of a fiat bag, a partition in said container dividing it into two compartments, a central aperture or mouth in each compartment of the container, a puff for each compartment having a back made of ilexible or pliable material and larger than the respective apertures or mouths in the container and shaped so as entirely to close the respective apertures or mouths of the powder container when inserted therein.
