OLIVER J. WARREN, OF DES MOINES, IOWA.
IMPROVEMENT IN CRNHUSKING IMPLAEMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 136,194, dated February 25, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OLIVER J. WARREN, of Des Moines, in the county of Polk and State of Iowa, have invented a new Corn- Husker, of which the following is a specification:`
My invention consists in forming a cornhusker in two parts, one to pass through the hand, similar to a husking-pin, and the other to be worn like a thumb-stall. -The part in the hand has a concave spoon-shaped jaw, and the part on the thumb has a corresponding conve-X jaw with a tooth at the point. They are construct-ed and cooperated as hereinafter fully set forth.

A A represent the husking-pin with a spoonshaped jaw at the upper end. The lower end is pointed. It may be made of cast metal or any other suitable material, complete in one piece,
- and vary in size'to suit large and small hands.

The parts B, O, and a may be cast together complete in one piece, and, by making the tube B short, a leather or flexible thumb-stall may be usedin place ofthe long rigid tube.
The husking-pin part A A may be used independent of the other part, and with equalv advantage to any other bushing-pin. But my improvement consists in adapting the two together it is immaterial Whether the arm is moved up or down, or to or from the operator. The husk can be pulled in either of those directions with equal facility.
Claim.
I claim as my invention- A corn-husker, composed of the parts A, B, C, and a, substantially as described.
