Be it known that I, CHARLES H. NowACK, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hunany, residing in Chicago, in the county of following is a specification.

This invention relates in general to containers and has more particular reference to sheet metal containers provided for holding, cheese, and other contents.

\ A principal object of the invention is the provision of a sheet metal container which may be readily closed to provide a tight package and readily opened without the use of a can opener or other cutting instru ment.

Another and highly important object of the invention is the provision of a container of this character which, while having interlockingengag'ement between the body and cover, will permit the body'of the container to be fully opened so that the contents may be removed as a single unit and without deformation.

A still further object of the invention is the provision of such a container of simple and'cheap manufacture and which will be of leasing appearance. 1

When it is desired to open a container constructed in this fashion it" is only necessary to sever the strip 15' from the remainder of the cover either by rolling or pulling itback upon itself to cause fracture along the lines 16. It is thought-that the invention and many of its attendant advantages will be understood from'the foregoing description, and

it will be apparent that various changes may bemade in the form, construction and arrangement of the parts without departing from "the spirit and scope of the invention or sacrificing any of its material advantages, the form hereinbefore described being merely a preferred embodiment thereof.
