IMPROVEMENT IN TRACE-CARRIERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. l 35,951, dated February 18, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, REUBEN H. WARRI- NER, of Toledo, in the couuty of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trace-Carriers 5 and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', that will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates' to an improvement in It consists in an upper connection of the two lateral portions by lneans of a cross-bar, or other suitable eontrivance, by which the reins of the harness are prevented from entanglement.

A is a bar or cross-piece connecting the upper portions of the `two lateral parts B B. Heretofore trace carriers have been constructed Without this cross-piece A, and have,
theref0re,.been defective on account ofthe reins or lines of the harness falling between the lateral portions B B and becoming entangled at the hooks C C. It is clearly 'to be seen that this defect Will be completely obviated by bridging over between the lateral portions B B, as 1 have done.
I do not limit myself to a single connectingbar, or to any particular design, in thus connecting the upper portions B B.
