To aZl'wh-omc'tmag COHCGWL! I 'Be it known that I,-NORMAN Bi BRALY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Butte, in the county of 'Silver Bow and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Factoring Devices, of which the following is a specification. 1 v

The present invention relates to means or apparatus for securing efiiciency records of workmen, and more particularly for determining theindividual capacities of men working together or in gangs; It has been found especially useful in connection with mining operations, but is of course not restricted in its scope to the same, The said. apparatus, in effect, constitutes part of a system that hasproven efiic'acious and thoroughly successful in actual practice.

'Eachsection' is furthermore provided with a ruled line i l to receive thenumber by. which a workman is identified, the word Number preferably preceding said line, as shown. Dire'ctly beneath that line is another line 15 adapted to receive the average to be determined by the record made of the workmans actual operations, and this line 15 is preferably preceded as shown by the word Total. In addition, each section is provided with a line 16 preceded by the word Place and adapted to receive a number designating the particular portion of the mine in which the out.

In connection with cards of the character above described, there is, employed a factoring device shown in Figs. '1-4: inclusive. This device consists of asuitable body plate 17 having pins 18 extending from one side, and provided with terminal knobsll) by which the plateccan be mounted in a rack with others of an analogous character. This body has preferably printed upon itas shown at 20 a title defining the particular work to be determined thereby,- and also having a designation, as 21 of the mine in which said work iscarried on. Upon one face of the body 17 is placed a sheet of transparent material 22, preferably celluloid, held in place by screws 23hr other fasteners. c This sheet 22 is separated from the body17 by a spacing sheet2 l interposed between the two and cut out to form a cardreceiving pocket 25. In-order to explain the utility of the device,- a concrete Xample will be given, employing the factors shown in connection with the card as illustrated. 1,000 units is taken to represent the perfect score for a weeks 'work of 6 days, or 166.66 units per day. In other words 1,000 units is equivalent to 100%. If, 8 hours is taken as the basis of a days Work, the men go to their places of wbrk on company time, which takes about half an hour, and after reach Operations are carried clitional company time is allowed to make their places safe.
