Description

UNITED sr OFICE.
CHRISTOPHER J. HEIDORF, 0F HUDSON FALLS, NEW'YORK.
WALL-PAPER FINISH.
No Drawing.
T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHRISTOPHER J. Heroonr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hudson Falls, in the county of ashington, State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in lVall- Paper Finish; and'I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in wall papers and particularly to coatings therefor.
One object of the present invention is to provide a novel and improved coating for a wall paper which will render the surface of'the paper ornamental and attractive.
Another object is to provide a novel coating for a wall paper whereby" the paper is rendered readily capable of being washed.
A still further object of the present invention is to provide a novel and improved coating which can be applied to any common wall paper to render the same fire-proof and washable.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description.
,The paper is of any suitable kind, such as is ordinarily used to cover walls and ceilings of houses. The coating consists of a mixture of ground mica shellac, and casein, or casein glue, to which the proper proportion of water is mixed to produce the de- Specification of Letters Patent. Patented S t 21, 192() Application filed October 23, 1918. Serial No. 259,411.
sired consistency for spreading on the paper with a brush. This coating may be applied by any of the well known coating machinery, now used, before the paper is placed on the market, or the coating may be applied to the paper after it has been pasted to the wall and ceiling.
The glue and the shellac render a fine plied, together with a solution consisting of;
casein or casein glue, and shellac to produce the required gloss to the paper.
What is claimed is:
A coating composition comprising casein, shellac, and ground mica.
In testimony whereof, I aHiX my signature, in the presence of two witnesses.
