TOY BUCKET.
Specification of Letters latent. Patentedk Sept. 14, 1920.
Application mea August 1e, 1919. serial No. 317,987.
To all whom z't may concern.'
Be it known that I, EDWARD MARSH, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at IVashingtOn, in the District of Columbia, have invented new and usefuly Improvements in Toy Buckets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a toy bucket and has for its primary object the construction of an article capable of performing two functions, that of carrying sand, and creating a rattling effect.
An object of the invention is to provide a toy bucket having a Sand compartment and a noise producing compartment separated from the sand compartment.
Besides the above my invention is distinguished in the use of a false bottom spaced from the main bottom of the bucket to coniine in placerattling elements, which strike against the walls of the bucket and against the false bottom to produce a noise.
With these and other objects in view the invention will be better' `understood fromv the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing: wherein:
rIhe view is a vertical sectional' View offmy improved bucket in one of its forms.
The bucket 1, of the usual construction,
and having a bottom 2 and a handle 3, has arranged therein at a point spaced from bottom 2, a false bottom 4 that may be secured to the bucket in any suitablemanner, such as by solder as indicated at 5. By this arrangement it will be seen that the interior of the bucket iS-divided into a lower compartment 6 `and an upper compartment 7 :tory the reception of sand or gravel, as my bucket is designed primarily for use at the sea-shore. Arranged in the compartment 6 are rattling elements 8, shown in this particular instance as metallic balls, which in the shaking o the bucket strike upon the false bottom `and wall of the bucket to create a noise. y
It'is of course to be understood that the rattling device maybe attached to the bucket in various other manners and therefore I do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claim yhereunto appended.
What I claim is:
v A toy bucket comprising a tapering body portion, a false bottom forced into the body and securedy at a predetermined spaced point ,from the bottom of the body, and balls arranged in the'space under the false bottom. In testimony whereofI aiiX m signature.
. EDWARD Aasn.
