To all rwhom it may concer-n:
Be it known that I, JAMES H. MGGARRAH, of Princeton, in the county of Gibson and State of Indiana, have invented a certain Improvement in Wagon-Harness, of which the following is a specification:
Nature and Objects of the Invention.
The nature of my invention consists in arched bows, springing from the side bars of the breeching-loop so as to form loops, the bows being connected by a bridge having a tongue or post projecting downward from its center, as will more fully be hereinafter set forth. Y
The following description, with a reference to the accompanying drawing, will fully eX- plain my invention.
Figure 1 is a top view of the loop, showing the back-band and belly-band billets in place,
back-band and belly-band billetH I are in one piece, passing through the loops x as in Fig. l, and pro vided with holes to permit of adjustment, through which the tongue or post B en ters, holding the back-band and belly-band billet securely in its proper place, the bellyband billet being provided with smaller holes for the tongue of the belly-band buckle. L, in Fig. 1, is the hames-tug; and K, the long part ofthe trace, fastened, respectively, to the bars D and E. F is the loop for a strap to go to when breeching is required' in place of a hip-strap.
By this arrangement much labor and material are saved in making the harness 5 it is more easily adjusted than the old style; and is neater andless expensive.
The entire breeching-loop may be cast in one piece, or the pin maybe a separate piece, if desired, and united in any suitable manner.
lI claim as my invention- The breeching-loop, consisting of the frame D E F, wit-h arched bows C C springing from the side bars to form the loops x m, and connected by the bridge A having a downwardprojecting tongue, B, substantially as and for the purpose described.
