The axes of the pivotal connections for the jib and arm and plate are vertical so that the plate 46 will remain horizontal and the angle of delivery of the sand from the proj e'ctor' into the flask will not be varied, While the pivotal connectionsfor the jib and arm permitthe flask and support 'efi to be moved horizontally in any direction so that all portions of the flask may be brought into position to be filled with sand from the projector. This construction exemplifies a ma chine in which the projector is. mounted upon movable carriage and the latter is provided with a .movable flask supportwhich is mounted on the carriage and movable relatively thereto.
The carriage is rotatable so that it may be moved in circular path over an area of the floor on which the molding sand has been shoveled and to progressively advance over this' area as the sand on the floor is fed to the machihe. l-Vhile the machine is rotatahly advancing, sand may be placed in back of it so'that the machine will be continuously supplied with sand. A screw-conveyer 50 is'securcd to a shaft 51 which has its outer end mounted in an extension 52 of the back 14 and its inner end in a bearing Fig. 2 is a rear elevation. The gearing between ratchet 77 and gear 72 will cause the Wheel 77 to be driven at a reduced speed. Rotation of gear 72, which meshes with the stationary rack, will cause the carriage on which'the'projector, elevator and teed-mcchanism are mounted to be rotated. A dog- 83 pivoted to the bracket 52, is provided with a. terminal 84- which is adapted to ride in the rack 71 and is yieldingly held in engagement therewith by a spring: 85. This'dog serves to remove the sand from and clear the rack 7i in advance of the. gear 72.
