Description
UNITED STATES PATENT' OFFICE. y
onn'rn L. YEoMANs, or KIs-LYN, PENNSYLVANIA.
Application led November` 5, 1919. Serial No.-335,804.
To all who-m t may concern Beit known that I, GRETA L. YEoMANs, a
adapted for use in connection with a single roller, whereby the roller is effectively maintained in applied position.
The invention consists in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved bracket, whereby certain important advantages are attained and the device rendered simpler, less expensive and otherwise more convenient and advantageous for use, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
The novel features of my invention `will hereinafter be definitely claimed.
In order that my invention may be the better understood, I willvnow proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
F`gure 1 is a view in elevation illustrating brackets constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention, with a roller applied thereto;
Fig. 2 1s a view partly in top plan and partly in section of the structure as illustrated in Fig. 1, and,
Fig. 3 is a view partly in side elevation and partly in section of one of the brackets as herein embodied.
As disclosed in the accompanying draw-l ings, R denotes` a roller of the type enerally employed'in connection with s ades, and which is rotatably supported by the brackets A and B. The bracket A is formed on the outer end of a threaded Shank 1, which is adapted to be engaged in a conventional manner, with a support, Such asa Specification of Letters Patent.

window frame or the like. The drop end ofthe shank 1 is defined by an outstanding annular flange 2. VVhenthe bracket A is in applied position, a washer 3 of rubber or other yieldable or compressible material, is inserted between said flange 2 and the adjacent surface of the support, so that the bracket when being applied Vwill not injure or unduly marsuch surface. The bracket A is provided with an angularv opening 8, which is adapted jto recelve the angular gudgeon or trunnion comprised in the well known type of shade roller.
Theopposite end of the roller R is pro* vided with the threaded trunnion 4, adapted to be engaged within the socket 5, formed in the shank 6 of a cap C.' The shank 6 is l loosely insertible throu h an opening 7 formed in the bracket B with the cap C outwardly arranged with respect to said bracket. By this means it will be obvious thatv the roller R may be effectivel supported between the brackets A and in a manner whereby the roller is held against displacement, and particularly as a result of a sudden jerk or pull being im.- posed upon the curtain or the like, coacting with the roller R.
It will also be obvious that the cap G coacts with the bracket B to provide a rota- V table bearing for the trunnion 4.V
From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a bracket constructed in accordance with my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility Withrwhich it may be assembled and operated, and it will also be obvious that-my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without departingfromthe principles and spirit thereof, and lfor this reason I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation ofV the several parts kherein shown in carrying out my invention in practice" except as hereinafter claimedV y I claim:
1. In combination with a roller provided with a threaded trunnion, a Supporting bracket having an opening, and a cap provided with a shank insertible through the ,and
saV
Y bracket having 2mA opening, L cap provided with a shank nsertible through the opening -Y of the'bracket, said sha'k being' provided with socket to receive-thetbreaded trunnion of 'the rollcryarrgudgeon carried by the opposite'end of the roller, and a (Second, supporting bracket provided vvvithmi opening to Y receive the p gudgeon.
In testimony. whereof l'rhereuntoajiiix my sighttlire.
,ORETA L. Yifioimmfs.V
