To all whom t may concern: n Be it known that I, ROBERT Gines, a citizen of the United States, residing at Portland, in the county of Multnomah and State of Oregon, have invented new and useful Improvements in Skirt-Hangers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in garment hangers and the principal object of the invention is to provide means for engaging the inner side of the waist band of a garment for silspending the garment from the hook.

Another object of the invention is to make the hanger foldable and have its ends adjustable so that it may be easily inserted and expanded within the waist band otv the garment. Y

The invention also consists in certain other features of construction and :in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter' fully described, illustrated in the accompanying Vdrawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure l is a view of the device alone.

The suspending means consists of a piece of chain l() having one end connected with the member 1 adjacent its hinged end and its other end connected withthe member 2 adjacent its hinged end.

The hanger is more particularly designed for use with skirts. To insert the hanger in the skirt thc two pieces are first folded together and one endY is vplaced against the waist band of the skirt at the extreme side thereof and the skirt and hanger grasped by one hand. The other hand is passed along` the waist band to the opposite side and then the hinged center of the hanger i the clamp type as in my device the outside of the skirt is not touched by the hanger.

It is thought from the foregoing descrip tion that the advantages and novel features of my-invention will bc readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.

' What I claim is Y A hanger of the class described comprising a pair of metal channel members hinged together, each member having a longitudinal slot therein, blocks having portions slidingin the channels in said members, thumb bolts carried by the blocks and passing through the slots, a suspension chainhaving cach end connected with each channel member at one side edge thereof adjacent the hinged end and resilient tips secured to the outer ends of the block.
