To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ROBERT BnowN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Montrose, in the county of Montrose, and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful IIIIPIOVGIIIBIltS HI Puzzle-Rings andBracelets, &.c., of which the following is a specification.

The primary object of the present invention resides in the provision of a puzzle finger ring and has particular relation to a ring formed of a plurality of connected links wherein after a proper manipulation of the several connected links, the same may be assembled into a unit ring formation for wear upon a finger, or the links may be extended to represent a bracelet or watch fob or the like. v

A further object of the invention includes in a ring of the type herein set forth formed of a plurality of connected links, an intricate method of assorting thelinks in a manner to represent a finger ring,-and it is intended that the use of the device may be of unlimited scope as for the purpose of free distribution in advertising and constructed of cheap material, or the device may be con structed of precious metals and be carried as an attractive article of expensive jewelry.

With the above and other objects in View, this invention consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts herein fully described and shown in the accompanying drawing, wherein like reference characters indicate similar parts throughout the several views.

Briefly described, the present invention aims to provide a puzzle ringor bracelet formed of a plurality of permanently connected links'that are adapted by a peculiar manipulation and association with each other to be assembled into a compact form in representation of a finger ring, the method of assembling the link sections being of so complicated nature as to require great study while the several links when ex-' tended, may assume the formation of the connected-links of a bracelet or watch fob.

Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing and particularly to Figs. 4; to 7, there are provided four link members A, B, C, and D which are interconnected in the manner illustrated in Fig. 3

As shown in Figs. 5 and (3, the links 13 and C respectively have laterally offset portions 11 and 12 extending in opposite directions, the lower end of the laterally offset portion 11 of the link D having a surface channel 13 while the upper end of the laterally offset portion 12 of the link C having a surface channel 14:. As contrasted with the link A, the link D is reversely offset as at 15 with surface channels 16 and 17 formed adjacent the upper and lower ends thereof.

Assuming that the links are connected as illustrated in Fig. 3 with the links B and C outwardly positioned and it being desired to assemble the links into ring formation as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, the links A and D are interconnected as illustrated in Fig. 1 with the body portion of the offset 8 of link A- received in the surface channel 16 and where the offset A crosses the channel 16, said offset is provided with a hump 16 while the lower end of the offset 15 being received in the surface channel 10 is provided with a hump 10 overlying the channel 10. In assembling the link B with the links A and D, the channeled portion 13 oflink B is positioned beneath the offset 8 of link A with the humped portion 13 of link A overlying the channel portion 13 of link B while the upper end of the laterally offset portion 11 of link B is provided with a hump 9' received over the channel 9 of link A. The remaining link 0 has the channel portion 14 thereof engaged beneath the hump 14 of the link D while the lower sitioned for mounting 011 a finger. Conslderable lngenulty 1s requlred 1n assembling the several links to form the ring illustrated in Fig. l and if desired, the links may be extended as illustrated in Fig. 3 in representation of a bracelet or watch fob. As above stated, it is intended that this device may be constructed of cheaper materials and be distributed as advertisingmatter of souvenirs, or the same may be ,formed of more precious metal and carried in the art of jewelry as a more expensive article, and it 1s not intended to limit this application to the material from which the device is to be made.

While there is herein shown and described the preferred embodiments of the inven tion, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

What is claimed as new is A device of the class described compristhe wide ofl'set portions, one of said inner links having humps formed on the wide offset portion thereof below the channel grooves, and the other link having humps formed on the Wide offset portion thereof above the channel grooves, the links interlocked to assume ring form having the hump portions overlying the surface grooves to prevent accidental relative movement of the links.
