IMPROVEMENT IN THlLLs FoR MowlNe-MACHINES.
Speciiication forming part of Letters Patent No. 133,706, dated December l0, 1872.

Be it known that I, OZRO A. HILLMAN, of
` Providence, Rhode Island, have invented a being interposed at their pointsA of junction and firmly secured to them.V A reach, D, sccured to the braces O and B, connects the thills firmly with the machine.
The reach may be bent down ard, if preferred, when a low frame is employed, and can `be connected to the frame by a piu or bolts,
in any well-known Way.
It is obvious that the brace B might be made elliptical without departing from the sprit of my invention, but I prefer to make it of a regular curve, and substantially semicir- Ihave described my invention as adapted to mowing-machines, but it is obviously ap- Y plicable to other machines or vehicles.
By this construction substantial, durable, and neat thills are provided, and the method of bracing the rear ends of the shafts insures ample strength and firmness to the thills, and enables them to be connected to the machine in a convenient manner, and with the least possible expenditure of material in their construction.
I claim as my invention- 1.'The combination ofthe shafts, the segmental brace, and the interposed crossbrace, all rigidly bolted together, as set forth.
