Improvement in Painters Striping-Brushes.
No. 133,088, Patented Nov.19,1872.

PETER FEEcK, 0F SENECA FALLS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO HIMSELF Am) HERMAN e. DOWNS, 0F SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN PAINTERS' STRIPING-BRUSHES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 133,088, dated November 19, 1872; antedated November 15,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETER FEECK, of Seneca Falls, in the county of Seneca and State of New York, have invented an Improvement in Painters Striping-Brushes; and the following is declared to be a correct description of the same.
This brush is for painting two parallel lines or stripes simultaneously, so as to obtain greater accuracy and rapidity in striping carriages or other articles.
I make use of a holder formed of sheet metal, one portion of the sheet being rolled up into a cylinder for the handle and the other portion bent into tubular forms for receiving the two bunches of hairs composing the brushes. By this construction the brushes are mounted upon one handle, and they can be easily made at a greater or less distance apart, and in use the stripes or lines will be parallel and made with rapidity and accuracy.
In the drawing, Figure l is a side viewof the brushes complete, and Fig. 2 represents the flat piece of sheet metal out ready for bending up to receive the brushes and handle.
The sides a a of the piece of sheet metal are bent up or rolled to receive the handle I), and the tongues c ofthe sheet metal are rolled up, as represented in Fig. 1, to receive the brushes d, formed of bundles of hairs 0f the desired size. By making the sheet-metal plate of greater or less width between the tongues c c the brushes will be further apart ,or nearer together, and adapted to receive any sized bundles of hairs.
I claim as my invention- The striping brush, made of the metal plate bent up to receive the two bunches of hairs, and also the handle, as and for the purposes set forth.
Signed by me this 6th day of May, A. D.
