Thus the corres|iondingr parts are interchaiigeablc. the intermediate frames may he applied 'to index o1' display devices already in use, and the intermediate frames and display frames may be applied tosupports ot' various sizes and shapes; for it will he understood that the invention is b v no means limited to the circular iorm of support shown.

' ln a device ot this type, using stitiA and inficxihle leaves hinged close together it is impossible to open out two adjacent leaves suilciently wide andv fiat to. secure the maximum of convenience and facility in using the' device. But with the doable pivot hinge of the present invention a much wider opening of the, leaves is possible. Asthe top and bottom'hinge iiieinhers areI rigidly con-v nectcd the device as a whole loses nothing `1n rigidity; the intermediate yframes may be easily` applied to index and display devices now in conin'ion use;v and all the parts heing relnovable the intermediate frames may be removed and the display Jframes directly mounted on the support, it'lso few leav'es are used as not to interfere with their wide opening.

In a deviceof the el'iaraeter described, a support, a series ot Stiti' display trames, a series of rigid intermediate frames each consisting `ot" Tipper and lowerhorizontal hinge harsrigidly connected by an upright bar, and pin and socket connections pivotally connecting the hinge bars of said interi'iie'diate frames at their inner ends to the-support lto swing freely` without axial movement and at' their outer ends to the several display frames, vsaid `intermediate frames being. detachable both from `said support and from sa'iddisplay frame without disti'lrhing theparts of said support or of said interi'nediate frames.
