Inasmuchas the latter ribs`converge` downwardly the curtain rod will-tend to bind between them and will, therefore, be revented' -from dropping so that the rod an the curtains thereon. will beprop'erly supported.

. It is thought themanner of usingthedevice will be readily understood. The clampfing lips or jaws Zand 7 are so relatively adjusted that4 theyl mayv be disposed at the side edges of the windowfraine, after which the screw 9 is turned so that the member 7 willv be carried to and against the window frame' whereupon continual -rotation against the screw or bolt will etfectually clamp the base plate in position. To prevent'marring of the surface of-the window frame pads of felt, v-rubber or other cushioningg material, indicated at 39, may be interposed between the clamping jaws and the window frame as will be readilyI understood. A second pair of curtainsor a valance may be draped upon'the straight rod 33 and said rod then engaged .upon the holding arms 31 lwhich will be fitl ted in the lugs 27 and when the valance or the second pair of curtains has been properly draped the hidingl of the brackets will w complete. lt will be readily seen from what hasbeen' said' that I have provided'an exceedingly simple device which may be secured in positionI upon a window frame without the use of anyv nails, screws, or other pointedv fastenings which may mar or damage the woodwork of a window frame. The
