PACKING-HOLDER.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRED A. LARAWAY, a citizen of the Ilnited States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of O'swego and State of New York, have invented certain new and Useful Improvements in Packing- Holders, of which the following is a specification.

As is well known, it is the custom for supply houses, garages, repair stations and the like to maintain supplies of repair parts of automobiles, including packing. This packing is ordinarily placed in boxes, drawers, and the like, and consequently not only becomes crumpled and misshapen, but it. is more or less difficult of access, and the amount on hand is not readily ascertainable.

It is the. primary object of the present invention to provide means for mounting the packing elements so that they are maintained in proper condition, each section or element being readily accessible and obtainable Without disturbing any other, and the amount of stock on hand can be determined with the greatest ease.

A further object is to provide as an article of manufacture a holder with predetermined sets of packing thereon, which can be sold as an entirety and is in eflect a display card for the material. v

In the embodiment disclosed, a base plate 3 is employed which may be of woodor other suitable material, and is provided at one end with an opening 4 by which it may be hung upon a wall. This plate is provided with outer sets of outstanding pins 5 and 6 that 1 are spaced apart and so related that theywill correspond to the usual bolt-receiving openings formed -1n packing strips. the pins 5 are engaged. Similarly, curved strips 9 are mounted on the lower sets of pins 6. These sets of pins are arranged along the margins of the base plate. Within the same are other sets of pins 10, 11, 12 and 13 arranged to hold standard packing strips 14, 15, 16 and 17. The spaces still remaining may be occupied by packing washers 18 mounted on suitably arranged pins 19, and sheets of packing 20 also employed in certain automobile engines, can be mounted upon a pin 21. It will be obvious that these packing elements are all maintained in their proper form and are all exposed to View. Each is accessible and the number in stock can be quickly ascertained. In addition the arrangement is such that they occupy a relatively small amount of space. It will be evident that the holder can be manufactured, and the packing applied thereto by the purchaser, or that av predetermined number of packings can be mounted thereon and the entire outfit sold as an article of commerce.

From the foregoing, it is thought that the construction, operation and many advantages of the herein described invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, without further description, and it will be understood that various changes in the size, shape,
