SPOON-HOLDER Specification of Letters .Eatent.
Patented June 10, 1919.
Application filed September 5, 1917. Serial No. 189,836.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that we,'WALTnR E. ANDER- SON and MARY A. ANDnBsoN, citizens of the United States, residing at Banksville, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Spoon-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relatesto a device for supporting a spoon with relatlon to a receptacle so that the spoon is arranged in convenient reach of the user.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character of a simple construction thereby reducing the cost of manufacturing thereof.
Besides the above our invention is distinguished in constructing the liolder of single length of wire in such a manner that the device may be formed by one operation of a wire bending machine.
With these and other objects in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
Figure 1 is a view of the device showing the same in applied position.
Fi 2 is a top lan view of the holder.
Re errin to t e drawing it will be seen that the ho der is constructed from a single length of wire 1, having one end portion bent to form an opening 2, for the reception of the shank 3 of the spoon 4.
The body 5 of the device is of an L shape formation with the remainin end twisted to form coils 6, adapted to em race both the interior and exterior surface of the receptacle 7.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompan g drawing it should be apparent that we ave a holder of simple construction and which may be manufactured at a relatively low cost and so constructed as to' be held against accidental movement when in applied position.
Having described our invention, what we claim is A spoon holder consisting of a single length of wire bent at a central point to provide right angular extending limbs the rear extremity of one limb being formed into a coil for the purpose set forth and the rear extremity of the other limb being bent back upon itself to form a loop and twisted around its associating limb for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof we aflix our signatures.
