Fixed upon the spindle Ll() is a star wheel 4t2, and operatively engaged with the teeth of the star Wheel is an eseapement 4.4L fixed upon the transverse spindle 31. Means for winding the spring; 8l are provided by the extending key or handle 4.6 which 'upon being' wound, transmits rotary motion through the gear train to the star wheel, causing; the eseapement lever 44 to oseillate, rocking* the bar 30., and transmitting alternate reciprocating motion to the connecting* links 28, causing' the arms and 2st, and 23 and 2st to rise and tall in an alternate manner.
