RALPH C. IDONE, 0F CLEVELAND, OHIO.
BATH-TUB ATTACHMENT.
Application filed January 10. 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RALPH C. IDONE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bath-Tub Attachments, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in bath tub attachments, the present embodiment of the invention being particularly de signed and adapted to be readily attached to or detached from the rim of an ordinary bath tub.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a generally improved two-in-one fixture of this class that is to say,a fixture in which two articles are combined in one, in the present instance, a tray adapted to be arranged and disposed within the upper marginal edges of the bath tub and a toilet roll holder carried outside of the rim portion of the bath tub.
A further object is the provision of a enerally improved fixture of this class wiich will be exceedingly simple in construction, cheap of manufacture, and efficient in use.
With the above mentioned and other ends in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement, and combination of parts, hereinafter described, illustrated in one of its embodiments in the accompanying drawings, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
Referring to the drawin gs, forming a part of this specification, Figure 1, is a side elevation of the improved fixture applied to the rim portion of an ordinary bath tub.
Fig. 2, a perspective view of the improved fixture, detached, the toilet roll being removed therefrom.
Similar numerals of reference designate like parts throughout all the figures of the drawings.
The improved attachment comprises a single length of wire bent upon itself substantially midway of its ends, forming a tray loop 1, and provided with upwardly curved side arms 1*, conformed to and receiving the rim 2", of the bath tub 2, said curved mem- Specifieation of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 25, 1919.
Serial No. 270,471.
bers 1, terminating in upwardly and inwardly extending loop hooks l taking under and engaging with the depending marginal edge or skirt portion 2*, of the tub rim 2, said loop hooks terminating in horizontally extending spring side arms 1, terminating at their outer ends in loop eyes 1",
adapted to removably receive and carry the bearing ends or pintles 3, of the ordinary supporting roller 3, adapted to receive and support the ordinary roll of toilet paper 3*. The loop eyes terminate in a reversely curved toilet roll receiving loop or bail member 1, forming double spring side arms, said loop member 1, extending beneath the curved rim receiving members 1, and terminating in transversely abutting portions 1 adapted to abut against the outer side of the bath tub to further assist in supporting and stabilizing the improved fixture, as a whole, the abutting ends 1 being preferably secured by means of a ferrule 1.
The tray member may be of any suitable and convenient form, and in the present instance, comprises an nner cross or rim member 4, and a plurality of suitably spaced cross loop members 4 bent into suitable form to form the tray receptacle.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the operation and advantages of my invention will be readily understood.
Having thus described one of the embodiments of my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is,
1. A bath tub attachment, comprising a single length of wire bent upon itself forming a tray loop at one side and a reversely extending loop at the other, said last mentioned loop bemg provided with double side arms havin loop hooks adapted to engage the under side of the rim of a bath tub, and said tray and loop hooks being connected by upwardly curved members arranged above said loop hooks and conformed to and receiving the bath tub rim.
2. A bath tub attachment, comprising a single length of Wire bent midway of its ends forming a soap rack loop and provided with upwardly curved side arms conforming to and receiving the rim of a bath tub, said side curved rim receiving side arms and terminatarms terminatin in upwardly and inwardly ing in a bail member adapted to abut against 7 extending 100p fiooks taking under and enthe outer side of the bath tub.
gaging with the depending marginal edges In testimony whereof I have aflixed my 10 .5 of the bath tub, and a pair of side arms eX- signature.
tending. inwardly beneath said 7 upwardly RALPH C. IDONE.
Copies of this patent may be obtained for. five cenfs each, by addressing the commissioner of latents, 7
