cILvIA DAVIS, or NEW Yoan, N. Y.
lSANITARY. TOILET-PAPER HOLDER 'AND DELIVERER.'
Application lcd February 28, 1917. Serial No. 151,091.
To all whm it may concern:
Be 1t known that I, CILVIA DAVIS, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at .mag` be' delivered.
l New York city, borough of the Bronx, in, the county'of the Bronx and State of New York, have invented certain -new and useful Improvements in .Sanitary Toilet-Paper Holders and Deliverers, of which the following is' a speciication.
This invention relates to sanitary toilet paper holders and deliverers and has for its primary object, the provision of a device of this character, which will be composed of the minimum number of parts constructed in such manner that they may be readily asf sembled or taken apart, as occasion may requlre.
Another object of the invention resides in the provision of 'afholder and deliverer of the above statedv character, which will be constructed in such manner, that when as-l sembled, the roll of'paper will be entirely lnclosed, leaving onl a slot inthe lower portion ofthe device, t
further object of the invention resides in the provision of a holder and deliverer of the above stated character, in which the removable back plate may be readily connected with the body of the holder and the complete device suspended upon suitable supporting members projecting from a wall or other statlonary support.
A still further object of the invention resides in the rovision of a holder and deliverer, in whic the paper roll may be readily secured in position and rotated-as desired.
A still further object of the invention resides in the rovision of a novel connection between the back plate and the body of the holder.
With the above objects and 'others in view, as will appear as the description proceeds,
the inventloncomprises the variousfnovel specification of Letters Patent.
rough which the paper Patented Mar. 1i, 191e Fig. is an elevation of the back plate in blank form,
Fig. 3 is a'detail transversevertical section through the device as shown` in Fig. 1, and
Fig. 4 is a detail sectional view. on the plane of line 4 4 of Fig. 3, Looking in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Referring more specifically to the draw- I ings, 10 designates the curved body and 11 the ends or sides of the -holder withinlwhich the paperroll 12 is inclosed, the. roll preferably being provided with a solid core 13, into the .ends of which thescrews or other handle supporting members 14 are passed through the ends or sides 11 and also serve to support the hand-les or knobs 15, by means of which lthe paper roll 12 may be readily rotated. .While only one handle is shown, it
will be understood .that the handles are employed upon both ends or sides of the device. It is also to be understood that the body 10 and sides or ends 11 may be formed of any suitable material, preferably of white enameled tin, and constructed in one piece. portion of the lower edge of the body 10 is cut away, at the back-of the device, as shown at 17 in Fig. 3 and a transverse tongue 18 is pressed upwardly from the lower edge of said body 10, for a purpose which will presently be apparent.
i The back oi the body 10 is closed by means vof the back plate 19, which has a, curved lower extension 20 provided with a trans. verse slot 21 and also side notches 22 at the connection of said extension 20 with the main portion of said back plate 19. A pair of ears 23 are extended from the upper edge of said back plate 19 and provided with inj verted key slots 24.
After the roll 12 has been secured in the holder, the back plate 19 is secured in position, the ears 23 being passed upwardly through the openings 25 provided foi-.this purpose'A in the upper' rear portion ofthe curved body 10, while the tongue or extension- 2O is bent ata right angle and passed beneath the .tongue 18, the curved end of the tongue or extension -20 resting upon the bottom ofthe curved body 10, inwardly of. said tongue 18. This brings .the transverse slot 21 of the tongue or extension 20 opposite the cut-away portion of Ithe.v cur-ved body 10,- thereb. permitting the aperto be dellveredv n through said slot "2L he recesses 22 serve ldlc v te receive the enges 16 et the ends et the eut-away pertion l?, thereby securely imiding the beek plete J? in proper position The eeznp'iete device may then be suspended apen tbe heeded supports 26 projecting from the Weil er ether stationery support 2? and extendingn through the inverted key slots 24 et 'the ears 28, es Clearly shown in the drawings,
Frein the aegeing description, teken in connection with the eecempenying drew-` ings, the advantages of the censtruetion end of the metnefl yot operation will be readily apparent te these siriiied in the ert te 'which the invention epperteins and Wbiie L zieseribe the principle vof operation et vthe invention, together with tbe devices which 1i nor? consider to be the best' embodiments thereof, desire te here it understood that the devices shown are merely illustrative, and that such changes may be mede when desire es are Within the scope of the device es eieimeci.
