ATTACHMENT Eon ILows.
To all who'mz'ktlma' concern.' l Be it knownt l'at I, JACOB H. RrzoR, a citizen of the United States, andA a resident of Van Wert, in the=county AofV`a`nl7V ift andv l' State of Ohio, have invented a certainne-wff provision of an improved attachment of this class which is simple and inexpensive in its construction, efficient in its operation and capable of being easily and quickly `attached to a plow.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following detailed description thereof.
While the invention, in its broader aspect, is capable of embodiment in numerous forms, a preferred embodiment thereof is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,-
Figure l is a rear perspective view of a plow embodying the invention. Fig. 2 is a fragmentary front perspective view thereof, and Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectionV of the at'- tachment. l
Referring to the drawings, 1 designates a plow bottom of the customary or any suitable form, and 2 the beam carrying the same.
The attachment embodying the invention comprises a .fin cutter 3, which, in the present instance, is of L-form with its lower arm extending rearward along the land side of the plow l and secured thereto by bolts 4 or in any other suitable manner. The upright portion of the fin 3 forms the cutting blade and extends at its upper end preferably to a height which is equal to, or greater than the height of the plow bottom. A frog 5v Specification, of Letters Patent.

ofj the frog u-.andhas its nose or forward edge if portion preferably l entering.` a. curve or recess in thel adjacent side of the fin4 3 a shortidistance -at= the rear-A of Iits cutting edge 'so as-to prevent the accumulation of weeds or. other matter between the fin cutter and jointer. The jointer blade 7 is similar in form to the mold board of a plow and is preferably adjustably connected to the frog l. Such adjustment in the present instance, is accomplished by the provision in the frog 5 of slots 9 through which the bolts 8 project.
A bracket arm 10, in the present instance of L-form, is adjustably clamped at one end to the plow beam 2 by the clamp 11 and extends forward therefrom with its free arm projecting downward between the flanges of the frog 5 and secured to the cutter fin engaging flange thereof by the bolt 6. A divider rod` l2 extends upward and forward from the inner side of the jointer blade 7 and serves to gather trash, weeds and other matter and prevent the accumulation thereof around the base portion of the plow beam 2. The provision of this rod is found to be quite an important feature in the use of my attachment.
I wish it understood that my invention is not limited to any specific construction, arrangement or form of the parts, as it is capable of numerous 'modifications and changes without departing from the spirit of the claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is L- l. The combination with a plow bottom and the beam therefor, of a bracket arm projecting forward and downward from the lower rear portion of said beam, a frog'carried by said bracket, a cutter fin secured to said frog and extending downward and rearward therefrom at the land side of the plow bottom, andV a jointer blade carried by said frog over the mold board side of the plow bottom.
Y, 2. The combination with a plow bottom and the carrying beam therefor, of ai bracket arm adjustably extending forward from a lower rear portion of said beam, a frog carried by said bracket in advance of the plow bottom, L a cutter fin extending downward from said frog in advance of the plow bottom and secured at its lower portion to the outer side of the land side of the plow botby said frog and extending from the ladje,"-
cent side of the fm cutter over vthe forward 5 bottom.
l 3. `The combinationY with a-plow bottnfH `and theoarrying beam therefor, of'a bracket @the iinoutter,
arm extending forward'ffrom thelower rear portion'of said beam, a frog carried by said 10'f bracket arm in advance of the plow bottom,
' a n cutter ysecured to andextending downward from Said frog 1n advance Vof the land sidewof the plow, and secured at its lower' endportion tothe plow bottom at said side, a jointer blade carried by said frog over the 15 forward end portion of the mold board of 'the plow and having its forward edge in Close engagement with the adjacent side of In testimony 'whereof I have hereunto v20 signed my namevto this specioation.
