13, 14 and 22 Itis of course vunderstood that variousy changes and modifications may be made in the details of Construction of the'above-specifically described sun dial without departing from the spirit of the invention, and being restricted lonly by the scope of the following claims.` v

1. In a sundial, the combination of a dial, a bracket adjustably mounted upon the outer face 'of the dial and adapted to be collapsed thereagainst, a gnomon pivotally and adjustablyvmounted upon the bracket, and means for securing the gnomon in adjusted positions. n

2. In a sundial, the combination of a back, a dial, a bracket hingedly mounted at its opposite' ends onthe back and on the dial, said bracket being adapted to be folded against said vback to draw the dial thereagainst when the latter is moved longitudinally of the back, and means for holding the dial in adjusted position when said bracket' y a locklng lever pivotally mounted upon said is extended. c n Y 3. In a sun dial, the combination of a back, a dial, a two-part hingedly connected bracket hinged atropposite ends to the back and to the dial, means for supporting the dial in extended positionsrfrom the back, and means for securing the dial in various laterallyL adjusted positions upon said bracket v f 4. In a-sun dial, the combination of a back, a dial, an adjustable bracket connecting the dial to the back and adapted to be collapsed against the latter, a gnomon, and a collapsible bracket connecting the gnomon to the dial and adapted to hold the gnomon against the outer face of the dial.

pivot pin adapted for engagement downwardly throughlsaid eyes of the back and said eye of thekdial to hold the latter bev tweenthe eyes of the back, a bracket hingedlyy connected@ at its opposite ends to thek back and tol-the dial at a point below said eyes, said bracket being relatively long to advance the lower end of the dial outwardly from the upper end thereof, a locking lever mounted on said back and adapted to engage beneath the eye of said dial to Vhold the latter in raised position, and means for holding said lever in locked position.

In a sun dial, the combination of a back, a dial, a pivot pin mounted on said back, an eye .proj ecting rearwardly from the dial for engagement upon the pivot pin and adapted to move vertically thereover, a relatively' long brackethingedly connected at opposite ends to the back and t0 the dial,
