HERBERT J. SCHLUCKBBIER, OF FRANKENMUIH, MICHIGAN.
TIE-HNGER.
T0 all w/zom z't mag concem:
Be it known that I, IIERBERT J. SCHLCKE- B1ER, a citizen of the United States, residing at F rankenmuth, in the county of Saginaw and State of Michigan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Tie-Hangers, of ivhich the following is a specification.
'This invention relates to a tie hanger or holder, designed particularly for usein supporting and sh:lping neckties of the four-inhand type, the object of the invention being to provide a hanger by means of which a tie may be suspended from a suitable support. and kept in shape,
A further object of the invention is to provide a tie hanger and shaper which is simple of construction, reliable and efficient in action, and by means of which the material ofthe tie will be smoothed out and kept free from wrinkles while it is being supported between periods o f use.
The invention consists of the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, hereinafter fully described and clai1ned, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a view showing my improved tie hanger and shaper with a tie applied thereto.
Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section through the tie .frame and tie. n
F ig. 3 is a view of the hanger with the tie renioved therefrom.
Fig. 4 is a view showing a detail of construction. v
. In carrymg my invention 1nt0 pract1ce,
I provide a tie hanger and shaper comprising a V-shaped frame- 1 formed of spring wire, the arms 2 and 3 of which frame are integrally connected at the vertex, as shown at 4, the frame as a whole being thus proferably bent into form froni a single piece of -spring wire.
. the wire The arms 2 and 3 are provided at their fiee, divergent ends With backtnrned portions forming eyes 5. These eyes 5 slidabl and -pivotally engage the oppositely exten ing arns 6 of a handle or suspending device 7, the ends of tlie arms 6 being bent at riglgt angles, as shown at 8, to form stops t0 lim1t the outward sliding movement of the eyes 5 and to hold the parts against disconnection and displacement.
The handle or "snspending device 7 also preierabl consists of a single piece of wire,

form a ring-shaped or looped handle or suspending member 9, thence having'its ends mtertwisted to form a stem or shank 10 holding the handle loop closed and connectmg the same With the arms 6, which arme 6 pro ect laterally in opposite directions therefrom. By reason of the slidable and pivotal connection between the frame arms 2 and 3 and the arme 6 of the handle, the frame arms 2 and'3 are adapted to have relative inward and outward movement to adapt the frame t0 confomn to the width of the tie 'to which it is applied and also to permit said arme 2 and 3 to expand or m0ve apzut by their spring action to exert trial of the tie to distend the Saine and thereby smooth out the material and elimi nate all wrinkles, whereby the tie Will be at :111 times preserved in shape while suspended or supported by the device. The pivotal conmction suspending devine also adapte the suspending device to be swung inWardly to dispose the hand 100p 9 between the frame arms 2 and 3, when the device is'not in use, so that the hanger may be packed in close compass for storage or transportation.
In the use of the device for supportin and shaping a tie, the frame 1 is inserte into the body portion of the tie 11 between the front and rearplies thereof, the arms 2 and 3 by theirresdiency or spring action yieldable-to conform to the width of gaging the side edges of the tie body along the lines of fold between the ffont and rear plies t of the tie will be spread ont to eliminate all wrinkles or creases and thus give proper pressure upon the mabetween the' handle andheref, as a result 'of which the fabric form or shape tothe tie'whiIe it is being suspended or supported. The tie thus fitted on the frame may be hung by the handle from any suitable suplport, and the free end of the tie may be al owed to hang loose or may be pinned to the body ofthe tie, as desired. By supporting the tie when notin Use in this manner the tic may be compactly stored and kept in proper use, as will be readily undelstoo and by folding the handle between the frame arme it will be evident that the disposed in compact form so as to lM& con veniently carried in a suit casa or other receptacle or otherwise transportation.

us fully described my invention,
A tic hanger and shaper comprising a V shaped frame formed of spring wire, the
5 free ends of the ar1ns of said frame being provided Wi vice formed oral portion handle, inte th eyes, and a s1ispending deof W116 and compnsmg a cenformed to provide a looped rmediate portions intertw sted 10 togetheyand forming a 1igid shank progect ing from sai d handle, and and portions proiorm terminal stops viding nrxns projecting in longitudinal ulinement with oach other and bent at 1ight angles to and in opposite directions from Said shank, said arms being slidably and pivotally engaged by the eyes of the frame u1'ms and bent at their free ends 50 as to t0 limio the spreading movements of said frame arms.
In testimony whereof I aflx my signature.
