COMBINATION PIANO-STOOL AND MUSIC-CABINET.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 8, 1918.
Application filed April 15, 1918. Serial No. 228,697.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDNA IRENE STANsnL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ousley, in the county of Lowndes and State of Georgia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Piano- Stools and Music-Cabinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in combination music cabinets and piano stools, and consists of a simple and efficient device of this nature having various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claims.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings which, with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this specification and in which:
Figure 1 is a central vertical sectional view through the same.
Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view, and
Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter:
A designates the corner posts of the cabinet, there being four shown in the drawings, and B is a vertical partition, and C a horizontal partition dividing the cabinet into several compartments adapted to contain music, while one of the compartments E contains a post or socket member F interiorly threaded and centrally disposed therein and resting upon the partition C. Said member has radial extending rods I-I fastened theretoand their outer ends to the corner posts at one end of the cabinet, and also to the partition B, thus securely bracing said member. The top of the cabinet is designated by letter L and a portion of the top of the cabinet E is provided with an opening N. A piano stool T has a threaded screw S fastened thereto and which fits threads in the bore of the socket member F, and which may be raised and lowered according as it may be desired to adjust the same to different elevations. The cabinet is provided with suitable doors R, whereby access may be conveniently had to the compartment's.
By the provision of a combination cabinet and piano stool made in accordance with my invention, it will be noted that a simple and efficient device is aiforded whereby the stool may be adjusted to different elevations, and
the compartmentsof the cabinet affording storage capacity for music conveniently at hand.
What I claim to be new is:
1. A combination piano stool and music cabinet, comprising a casing having a horizontal partition therein, a central cylindrical socket member interiorly threaded, and having a flanged bottom resting upon said partition, inclined braces secured at their upper ends to said member and their lower ends engaging the corners of the compartment in which the socket member is positioned, a seat with a screw fixed thereto and engaging the threaded portion of the socket member.
2. A combination piano stool and music cabinet, comprising a casin having corner posts, and a horizontal and vertical partition therein, a socket member interiorly threaded provided with a flange at the bottom thereof and resting upon said partition, the top of the casing having a circular out lined opening, a circular outlined seat positioned in said opening and having a screw engaging the threads of said socket member, braces having their outer ends notched and engaging the adjacent corner posts, and other braces secured to the socket member and engaging the corners of the compartment in which the socket member is positioned.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
EDNA IRENE STANSEL.
