UMBRELLA RING AND MARKER.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, JAMES H. GILRoY, a citizen of thefUnited States, and a resident of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Umbrella Ring and Marker, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates to an attachment for an umbrella, for the purpose of holding the tips of the ribsclose to the handle rod when the umbrella is' closed, and for the urpose of designating the owner of the um rella. ,a

The invention u to provide a device vof this character which of comparatively sim le and inexpensive construction, reliable an 'eicient in use, and so designed that when once 'applledr to an umbrella it cannot be detached., and consealways carried on the umbrella.

The attachment A comprises a band/l` of spring metal of such length that the ends 5 and 6 overlap to a considerable length, as`

shown in Fig. 3, the normal diameter of the bandor ring being such as toV hold the ribs of the umbrella close against the 'handle rod.
