granted Nov. 23, 1920, and in which I describe a tag preformed of superposed .portions so as to provide a compartment wlthin which the shackle ends can be received.

} Not only is this arrangement somewhat expensive, but also due to the fact that the compartment within which. the shackle end is to be received must be large enough to permit of manipulation of the shackle end thereinto, that the size of the compartment frequently also permits of the manipulation of this shackle end with the possibility of completely removing the shackle end therefrom without destroying the tag or the shackle member and replacing it by another shackle member so as not to indicate the replacement.

One of the important objects of my invention therefore is the provision of an arrangement whereby I can employ with my shackle member a ticket of a conventional type and one which can be used or employed in the conventional way in which it has hitherto been employed.

Another object of my invention is the provision of an arrangement whereby a shackle member can be associated with the ticket simultaneously with the completion of the. folding of the conventional type of ticket.

A still further object of my invention is an arrangement whereby the ticket and shackle member are so associated that neiwherein which I employ ther can be manipulated in a wayto permit of their disassociation without detection.

I 'For the attainment of these objects and such other objectsas may hereinafter appear or be pointed out, I have illustrated embodiments of my invention in the drawings,

Upon viewing Fig. 10f the drawing, it will be observed that the ticket 10 which I'employ is formed of any preferred or desired character of material, such as relatively heavy paper stock or linen and may be given any desired dimensions and shape.

Thisticket .is preferably although not necessarily provided with a line 11 indicating the line of fold and which, if desired, may be scored so as to assist in predetermining the line of fold and along this line and preferably symmetrically thereof, are provided the two openings 12 andl3.

Each anchoring tip is preferably formed of metal and is of a diameter or thickness disproportionately less than the length, the ends of the'flexible tie or string 20 being attached to the tips 21 so that the fastening point is intermediate the ends of the tip, one end 21 of the tip being preferably formed so as to serve as a guiding or piercing portion, and the other end 21 being formed to serve as a handle or manipulating portion. The diameter of the openings 12 or 13 where the openings are round, are such that the tips 21 can be passed therethrough endwise but cannot be passed therethrough lengthwise.

It will be understood that, according to the preferred practice of my invention, the tickets 10 of Fig. 1 are sold as such and apart from the shackle members of Fig. 2 and that it is necessary to associate the two only in actually affixing a ticket to a garment, although as will be understood, they can be preliminarily associated in the man ner now to be described in connection with Fig. 3 which shows the first step in their association.

lVith the ticket in its extended and flattened condition of Fig. 1, one of the tips 21 of the shackle 20 is passed through one of the openings 12 or 13 of theticket by grasping the handle portion 21 of one of the tips and forcing this tip endwise through the opening until it is completely passed With one of the tips sopreliminarily associated with the ticket, the tie member 20 is asso'ciated, with a garment portion as by being passed through a button hole or around a shoulder strap and the other tip 21 then similarly manipulated so as to have it pass in the same direction through the other of the two holes 12 and 13 and in Fig. 3 of the drawing, I show this pre'-' liminary sta e of assembly. The flap or fold 15 preferably gummed as stated, is now bent down upon the body portion 14 and sealed thereto as by softening the gum so as to completely enclose the tips 21.

By this arrangement, I am not only permitted to use a ticket of the conventional type and which is inexpensive, but also to associate this ticket with a garment in a conventional manner and at the same time secure a means for associating the ticket with a garment which cannot be removed or disassociated therefrom without detection.

In Fig. 5 of the drawing, 1' show a ticket 10 having but one hole 80 therein, through which both terminals 21 of the shackle 20 may be passed. 7

Having thus described my invention and illustrated its use, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A price ticket comprising a single symmetrical sheet, scored transversely for folding as a straight fold along said scoring and having spaced perforations transsected diametrically-by said scoring, adhesive material upon the sheet adjacent the scoring, in combination with a shackle comprising a flexible cord, tips attached to the ends'of the cord and proportioned to be inserted each through one of the perforations and assume positions transverse of the said perforations, said ticket being functionally completed by folding one part upon the other along said scoring and uniting by the adhesive to maintain said tips permanently and separately inclosed in said transverse positions.
