have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Table-Beds, of which the following is a specification.

In the accompanying drawings Figure l is a longitudinal section of a .table bed embodying the principles of my invention, showing the bed folded, being a section on line 1-1 in Fig. 2.

Thus the bed frame is self sustaining, but to prevent straining thereof, the section d is provided with fixed legs E at ,the outer end thereof, and the sections cl and d are provided with pivoted legs F and G. The upper-ends of the legs F, above the pivots thereof, are connected by links 7 with the frame links d Similar links 9 connect the upper ends of the legs G, above the pivots thereof, with the links d. Thus the legs F and G are adapted to automatically fold and unfold when the bed frameis folded and unfolded. When the bed is withdrawn from the table, as shown in Fig. 3, the legs E are disposed a distance from the legs of the table; but when the bed is folded inside the table, then the legs E come close to the legs of the table, and are disposed within recesses a in the front of the tablev legs. Thus the bed is folded and unfolded without the necessity of disturbing anything on the table.

From the foregoing, therefore, it.will be seen that the invention involves a practical and simple method'of combining a table with a bed, and isdevised to solve many of the problems involved in the combining of these two pieces of furniture; It has certain advantages, as previously explained, as well as others, which will be obvious to those skilled in the art,.but the invention is not limited to the exact construction shown and described, as the construction can be changed or modified, it will be understood without departing from the spirit and the fundamental or broader conception of the invention.

What I claim as my invention is 1.. A folding bed comprising a body, a folding bed frame having means at opposite sides thereof to slide outward horizontally on said body, in the direction in which the bed unfolds, preliminary to any unfolding thereof, and which frame is foldable to bring the mattress and bedding entirely inside the rectangular bundle formed thereby, preliminary to inward sliding movement to bring said bundle into the. body, means to limit said sliding movement, folding legs extending below the horizontal plane of said means to support one end of said frame in extended position, said body formin a support'for the other end of'said' bed, an a top adapted toconceal the bed within said body and form with the latter an ordinary table, said; body having endwalls providedwith guides, said frame having pivotally connected sections one of which slides on said guides, the sliding section being permanentlyright-side up a fixed distance from the floor, and the other sectionsof the frame being manually operable to fold and unfold'the bed respectively before and after said inward and outward- T horizontal movements thereof, said frame folding transversely to bring the head and foot thereof together whenthe bed is folded.

5. A folding bed'comprisingabody, a

folding bed frame having means at opposite sidesvthereof to slide horizontally on'said body, in the direction in which the bed un folds, preliminary to any unfolding thereof, and which frame is foldable to bringthe mattress and bedding entirely inside thereotangular bundle formed thereby preliminary to inward sliding movement to bring said bundle into the body, means to limit said sliding movement, folding legs extending below the horizontal plane of said means to support one end of said frame in extended position, said body forming a support for the other end of said bed, and a top adapted to conceal the bed within said body and form with the latter an ordinary table, said body having end walls provided with guides, said frame having pivotally connected sections one of Which slides on said guides, the sliding section being permanently rightside up a fixed distance from the floor, and the other sections of the frame being manually operable to fold and unfold the bed respectively before and after said inward and outward horizontal movements thereof, said frame folding transversely about four transverse axes to bring the head and foot thereof together when the bed is folded.
