Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,631, dated June 4, 1872.
Specification describing certain Improvements in Attaching Clip or Cock-Eye to Trace or Tug of Harness, invented by ROBERT L. B. MJLLIKEN, of South Bend, in the county of St. Joseph and State of Indiana.
My invention consists in so arranging the clip or cook-eye for tugs of harness that an old one can be taken 011' and a new one put on without the trouble of going to the harnessmaker, and, at the same time, cheap, durable, and ornamental.
In the accompanying drawing, A represents a cock-eye or clip for tugs of harness. B represents a quadrangular band of metal, just large enough to admit the end of a tug through it. 0 represents a groove cut on the inside of metal band B, and on opposite sides next to the flat sides of the tug. D represents a staple of metal, with the points just long enough to be admitted in the grooves on opposite sides of the band B. The cock-eye is simply a loop, while the clip is provided with a hook so as to hook into the staple of the hame.
The foregoing specification being had, what I claim is The herein-described clip A having a loop or band, B, with grooves O G, in combination with a staple, D, for attaching it to the strap, substantially as specified.
ROBERT L. B. MILLIKEN.
