Application filed December 7, 1914. Serial No. 875,797.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HARUTUN B. AZADIAN, a subject of the Sultan of Turkey, and a resident of Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Gage, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to gages, as pressure gages for oiling systems and the like, and has for its object a particularly simple and eflicient construction by which the gage can be readily attached to a support as a dash board,
In describing this invention, reference is had to the accompanying drawing, in which like characters designate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figures 1 and 2 are front and rear elevations of thisgage, the contiguous part of a support, as a dash board being also shown.
Fig. 3 is a side elevation thereof, partly in section, the sup ort or dash board being shown in section. his age comprises, generally, a cup shaped body having opposing peripheral collars or flanges for clamping a support or dash board, one flange being slidable axially on the body toward and from the other flange, and means carried by the body for sliding said flange. Said means are here shown as fastening members or set screws turning in threaded holes at one end of the body against the sliding collar, the holes opening through the periphery of the body, and the ends of the screws moving from within the periphery of the body obliquely to the outside thereof against the slidable collar. 7
1 is the body of the gage which is cylindrical and is open at its front end and closed at its rear end. The open front end is covered by a crystal 2 through which is visible a dial over which a hand 3 moves. The mechanism for moving the hand is located in the rear of the dial. This mechanism forms no part of this invention. The rear end of the body is formed with a nipple 4 for connection with a suitable tube which is connected to a pump, oiling system or other source of pressure. I

The collar 6 is slidable loosely on an unthreaded portion of the body near the rear end thereof.
1O are set screws turning in threaded holes extending obliquely outwardly and forwardly through rearwardly extending lugs 11 on the body 1 against the rear face of the collar 6.
These lugs 11. are formed at the juncture of the bottom and side wall of the body and the holes open through the periphery of the body in the rear of the collar 6. Hence, the ends of the screws move from within the periphery of the body to the outside hole in the dash board and the collar '6 placed thereon and clamped against the dash board by the screws 10.
What I claim is A gage comprising cup-shaped body position in the opening of a support, and 1 means at the rear end of the. body and coacting with the slidable collar, said means being movable from below the peripheral surfaces of the body and having a portion movable above said surface to engage the slidable collar and force the same axially into clamping position, substantially asvand for the purpose described.
