IMPROVEMENT .lN TOBACCO-BOXES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,118, dated May 21, 1872.
Specification describing an Improved Tobacco-Box, invented by WILSON 0'. THOMAS and EDWIN T. PILKINToN, of Richmond, in the county of Henrico and State of Virginia.
The invention consists in a tobacco-box formed of isinglass and paper. The invention will first be described inconnection with all that is necessary to a full understanding thereof, and then clearly pointed out in the claim. i
The drawing is a perspective view of my improved tobacco-box.
A represents the tobacco-box, formed of a cylindrical'body, B, the,botton1 O and the cover D. The body B is cylindrical, and formed of a rectangular sheet of isiuglass whose ends are lapped over" each other and fastened by paste or some other intermediate adhesive substance. This body is then provided at the upper end with the annular re;enforcement b of stiff paper, while the Lower end is fastened against the flange c of bottornO. The cover is made to fit the body, but has no distinctive peculiarity. This forms a tobacco-box, easily made, cheap, sufiiciently strong to bear transportation, and, withal, transparent.
Having thus described our invention, what We claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- As an article of manufacture the tobaccobox A, formed of isinglass body B, paper bottom 0, and paper cover D, as described.
