IMPROVEMENT IN ENVELOPES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 126,316, dated April 30, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
I, WILLIAM F. MCGRARY, of Baker City, Oregon, have made a new and useful Improvement in Register-Package Envelopes, for use in transmitting registered packages through the mails, of which the following is a specification:
The aps Nos. 1 and 3 are cut in square form, so that when folded together, with the short end on the under side, they form one side of the pocket complete, with the same double reception for the tuck as in the old form of envelope. The flap No. 2 is out in the manner fully shown in my drawing; and my invention consists in gummin g only the sides 4 4, as shown, so that when it is folded and gummed upon flap 3 it forms the receipt-pocket 5, for the safe and convenient deposit of the necessary receipt required by law to be attached to the outside of all registered packages in transit. The circular cut in the edge of the receiptpocket is designed to guide the eye and the thumb and nger to the exact location and proper place to seize the paper and remove and replace it with ease and facility.

I claim the envelope having the external receipt-pocket 5, constructed substantially as shown and described.
