T 0 all whom it may concern Be itknown that we, J AMES H.'Srnno and FRANK DEVAULT, citizens of the United States, residing at Clarkston, in the county of Asotin and State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to bag holding devices and it is the principal object of the invention to provide a bag holder especially adapted for arrangement upon the discharge spouts of threshing machines and other mills, whereby a bag or sack will be properly held free of the ground until filled, thereby maintaining the sack distended and doing away with the jigging of the same by hand to insure filling thereof.
Another object of the invention is to provide a bag; holder which when the bag held therebyis completely filled, will be lowered and deposited on vthe ground, thus eliminating lifting of the same from the holder.
A further object of the invention is to provide the bag holder with clamping jaws which will enable a bag or sack to be easily and quickly engaged thereby in a manner such as to prevent tearing of the sack.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a bag holder of such construction as to insure the uniform filling of bags engaged therewith.
The improvements in the details and arrangement of parts will be apparent from an inspection of the accompanying drawings, in connection with the specific description hereinafter contained, and wherein the preferred embodiment of the invention is disclosed for the purpose of imparting a full understanding of the same.

Similar characters of reference refer to similar parts throughout the several views of the drawings.
Having more particular reference to the drawings, 1 represents a sectional clamping collar which is adapted to be engaged with the discharge spout of a threshing machine or other mill. Bearings are arranged at diametrically opposite points upon the sides I of the sectional collar and are designated by the numeral 2.
Vertically disposed standards 8 are slidably received through the bearings 2 and are formed with series of openings 4: adapted to receive-a bearing pin 5 therein. A washer 6 is arranged upon each of the uprights and The lower endsyof each of the standards 3 are bifurcated and extended laterally as at 8; the. said lateral portions having clamping jaws 9 formed upon their outer extremities and lying parallel to each other.
Substantially U-shaped brackets 10 are rol tatably received in bearing collars 11 carried upon the lower portions of the standards 3 beneath their respective bearings 2. A yoke 12 having its opposite sides extending longitudinally of and arranged parallel to the clamping jaws 9 is provided and is pivotally engaged with the extremities of the U-shaped brackets 10 as at 13. By so connecting the yoke 12 with the brackets 10 it will be seen that the sides of said yoke may be swung downwardly to positions adjacent the clamping jaws 9, thus affording means whereby the sides of a bag or sack may be efiiciently gripped therebetween. To insure snug engagement between the clamping jaws 9 and the sides of the yoke 12, a curved guide member 14 is secured to each of the said jaws 9, and obviously, receive the sides of the yoke 12 therebetween.
To facilitate moving of the yoke 12, a handle 15 is arranged upon the rear portion thereof.
In operation, the sides of a bag are arranged over the clamping jaws 9 and the edges folded downwardly thereupon. The yoke member 12 is now forced downwardly by grasping the handle 15 and pressing the same forwardly. When in this position, the sides of the yoke member 12 will lie adjacent the clamping jaws 9 and as a consequence, the sides of the bag or sack will be securely held therebetween. It is to be noted, that a bag when held by my improved holder will be maintained in distended position at all times. Therefore, jigging of the same by hand will be unnecessary. Further, the tension of the springs 7 may be adjusted so'as to cause the filling of the bag to a predetermined point.
Manifestly, the construction shown is capable of considerable modification and such modification as is within the scope of our claims, we consider within the spirit of our invention.
We claim:
1. In a bag holder, a clamping collar having diametrically disposed bearings arranged thereon, clamping jaws 'slidably received in said bearings, a yoke, means for pivotally supporting the yoke with relation to said jaws, and a handle secured to the yoke.
