REVENDICATIONS
A la fig. I B. on voit.

7. Stacker according to claim 6, characterized in that the means which control the folding of said bridge parts are arranged to be able to stop them also in an intermediate position in which the bar rolls close to the landing, then is located stopped by the lower surface of a part integral with the opening part of the bearing, in the open state thereof, the last part of the folding of the bridge plates, from said intermediate position, then freeing the bar to make it roll without momentum into the place it should occupy in the bearings of the tanker.
The present invention relates to a stacker for laterally feeding bars of material to be machined to a machine tool or a machine tool feeder equipped for working the bar material.
Many machine tools, and in particular automatic lathes, are equipped to work the bar material and they are mostly provided with a feeder which delivers the bar of material to be machined to them. But this tanker itself must be periodically replenished.
This is done, as the case may be, either in a longitudinal way (the new bar being threaded in a tube), or in a lateral way, the tube or a succession of guide bearings of the refueler then being open to receive laterally a new bar. A refueler of this type is described in European patent application N0 85810133.0 published on November 13, 1985 under N0 016121 in the name of the same applicant.
To refill such a bar with bars, as well as to refill any other type of refueler laterally feedable or even simply a machine comprising a side bar refueling part, it is necessary to have a stacker which brings the bars laterally.
In the machine industry, as well as in the wood industry and in many other fields, stackers are known which consist of two parallel walls (or several parallel uprights) between which there is a certain distance over which belts or straps are passed, like the ropes of a suspension bridge.
A multiplicity of bars (or, in other areas, tree trunks, pipes, etc.) are piled up between these boards, on the aforementioned belts, and, when it is desired to bring out a bar (or a pipe or another round and elongated piece), one of the walls is raised somewhat, called the rear wall, and, due to the action of the belts, one of these bars deposited loose on the belts is poured out over the other wall, called the front wall, from which it gains the desired position, typically by rolling on an inclined plane.
To supply the bar feeder of a machine tool or a machine tool itself, such a known stacker proves to be inconvenient, firstly because of the large space which it takes in width, and secondly because of the fact that the lateral discharge of the bars is rather poorly controlled, it can happen that two bars are dumped at the same time, it can also happen that the bars (or other similar parts) are trapped, so that no bar falls at the right time or, on the contrary, on intervention of an operator, an avalanche of bars suddenly pours out.
The ideal would be to be able to store the bars in height, in a device which does not take up too much space in width or in depth, and which is arranged to cooperate effectively with the most modern types of tankers, in particular for automatic lathes.
The object of the present invention is to achieve the above-mentioned performance and to remedy the drawbacks of stackers-known in the prior art.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the presence of the characters set out in the appended claim 1.
The dependent claims define embodiments which are particularly advantageous, in particular from the point of view of reliability, simplicity of construction, small size, and also from the point of view of obtaining excellent cooperation with the most modern types of tanker.
It is noted that, when a bar is caused to roll along one or two inclined planes to reach a hollow place, it tends, when rolling along this inclined plane or these inclined planes, to take up speed and arriving at the bottom with a momentum which can, as the case may be, cause damage. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, defined by dependent claim 7, this pro bleme finds an interesting and inexpensive solution, by which the bars are always put in place without momentum, that is to say slowly and gently.
The accompanying drawing illustrates, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention; in this drawing:
fig. 1A is a view, in side elevation, of a tanker behind which is located, to supply it with bars, a stacker which cons
tituates an embodiment of the subject of the invention,
fig. 1B is an end elevation view, i.e. from
the back, of the stacker of fig. 1A, this fig. 1B not regaining delight
tailor that the bearing block 6, in the open state, the presence of which is important for understanding the present invention, which is best illustrated by this FIG. IB,
fig. 2 and 3 represent, respectively in the closed state and in the half-opened state, the unit 6 of the tanker,
fig.
4 is a view which takes up, on a larger scale, the essentials of the upper part of FIG. IB, but which illustrates, the bearing block 6 being in the open state, a particularly advantageous embodiment of the stacker according to the invention, in which the bars are brought into place very smoothly.
It is understood that the particular design proposed for the stacker in question can be used to supply bars with all kinds of refuelers, or also all kinds of machine tools simply comprising a refueling arrangement, and that, if the proposed stacker is suitable to deploy its advantageous effects in the case of a feeder for automatic lathes of the aforementioned type, it can just as easily deploy very advantageous effects for the lateral supply of bars of any other type of feeder or machine.
In fig. 1A, we see a feeder which supplies the doll I with an automatic lathe in a bar 2. This bar 2 is guided in a succession of working bearings 6, in this case of the hydrostatic type, but this would not be a necessity for the present invention, and we also see a new bar 14 ready to be introduced to replace the bar 2 when it has been used up. Behind this tanker is a stacker which constitutes an embodiment of the object of the invention.
To better understand this invention, it is preferable to simultaneously consider also FIG. I B, which shows the stacker 101 from the rear, that is to say from the right relative to FIG. 1A, this fig. 1B taking from the refueler only a bearing 6, shown in the open state. The stacker 101 comprises, fixed to a base 102, at least two pairs of uprights, each of which comprises a front upright 103 and a rear upright 104.
A spar 105 connects the top of the two front uprights 103, while a spar 106 connects the tops of the two rear uprights 104. It is noted that, depending on the length of the stacker, there could be more than two pairs of uprights 103, 104.
The spar 106 of the rear upright is rectangular, preferably tubular; on the other hand, the front upright member 105 is formed of a cylindrical bar. In two places relatively close to its ends, the bar forming the front upright member 105 carries rollers 107, preferably made of synthetic material, but which can also be metallic. In the same longitudinal positions, the spar 106 of the rear upright carries two fixing pieces 108 which each hold, in a very firm manner, a belt 109 whose arrangement can be best seen in FIG. IB.
This belt 109 first descends, in a U-shape, into a space which, depending on the viewing angle of FIG. I B, is located between the uprights 103 and 104, although, as seen in FIG. IA, these belts 109 are located longitudinally in places other than the uprights 103 and 104. It can still be said that the U shape of the two belts is located in the space defined between the two uprights of each pair of uprights.
A series of bars of material to be machined 110 are deposited in the space between the uprights and rest on the bottom of the U shape of the belt 109. These bars 110 will form the bar 14, then the bar 2, visible in FIG. . 1A.
It is seen, particularly when considering fig. IB, that the end of each belt 109 is wound around a drum 111 driven by a motor 112. The two drums 111 are axially aligned, as shown in FIG. 1A. Depending on the case, there may be a single motor 112 rigidly driving the two drums 111. In a more sophisticated version. one could have two motors 112 controlled, for example by electronic means. so as to compensate for possible differences in length expansion or winding of the two belts 109.
When the bars are loaded into the stacker 101, the two belts 109 are fully unwound and the bars can be introduced as close as possible to the base 102. on two support pieces 113, as shown in dotted lines at the fig. I B.
We understand that. when a new bar 14 is to be loaded into the feeder formed for example from a plurality of opening bearings such as the bearing 6 of FIG. I B. adequate rotation of the two drums 111 shortens the depth of the U-shape of the belt 109, which causes the bars 110 to rise. In FIG. I B. we see.
at the very top, a bar 110 which is ready to tilt by pouring over the front upright spar, more precisely over the two rollers 107 over which the belt 109 passes.
Note that the rear uprights 104 are a little higher than the front uprights 103 and that. near the end of the belts 109 fixed to the spar 106 of the rear upright. each belt 109 has a bead 114 which forces the bars 110 to already move in the direction of the front. the upper end of the front uprights 103 is therefore cut slightly obliquely.
Naturally, any other suitable device could be used to force the bars 110 to discharge correctly at the desired moment, that is to say at the moment when the drums 111 wind the belts 109 by a sufficient quantity ithérorically equal to twice the diameter of a bar 110. taking into account the muffle effect).
Naturally. when the tanker is to be loaded with a new bar, electrical signals are given. which in particular also have the effect of opening all of the bearings 6 as shown in FIG. IB.
We note, considering fig. IA. that the bars 110. as well as the bar 14, are delivered behind the bearings 106. this making it possible to gain in length the place of a flag pusher. whose longitudinal dimension is approximately that of doll 1.
Fig. 1B illustrates an advantageous embodiment of the invention; it shows that one can very easily store a large quantity of bars of material to be machined in a stacker which, despite everything, takes up very little space in depth (or in width. if we consider the view of fig. lB). Furthermore. the stacker proposed ensures that the bars are dumped one by one, in a regular manner and without risk of jamming.
The bars roll from the top of the stacker to the place where they must go to be placed in the feeder (or the feeding part of a machine not equipped with a separate feeder.
It is of course also understood that the driving part 111. 112 could be on the other side. that is to say behind the rear uprights of the stacker, the belt 109 then being fixed to the front upright spar and coming to roll around suitable rolling means which would be arranged on the rear upright spar.
The arrangement shown in fig. 1B however has the advantage of being economical in terms of the space required: moreover. the fact that the belts roll themselves on the rollers 107 helps, if necessary, still the pouring of the bars on the two inclined planes 115.
Fig. 4 shows a particularly advantageous alternative embodiment, mainly in the case where the bars are delivered to a tanker formed of a succession of opening bearings. Before fig. 4, we will briefly consider figs. 2 and 3 which simply show how the bearing 6 presents itself in the closed state, while it guides a bar 2, or even in the ajar state (fig. 3). state in which the landing half-opens to let pass a flag which leads a pusher. It will be recalled briefly that the bearing 6 is formed of two parts, one fixed lower and the other upper opening, these two parts carrying a bushing 24. formed of two half-bushings 24a and 24b, which define the rotary bearing.
To allow passage to the flag (fig. 3), the successive landings open one after the other; on the other hand, for the lateral introduction of a new bar (fig. 4), all the bearings 6 open to the extent sufficient to allow the bar to pass.
In the variant according to FIG. 4, the inclined plane 115 is formed of two bridge plates 116, only one of which is visible in FIG. 4. This bridge plate 116 can be placed in several positions using a cylinder cylinder and piston 117. In a first position, the bridge plates 116 are held substantially horizontal, or even slightly oblique upwards, so that the part 110 remains close to the roller 107. This is shown in solid lines in FIG. 4.
Then, the jack 117 folds to a certain extent the bridge plates 116 into an intermediate position which is adapted in such a way that the bar 110 rolls towards the bearing 6, but is stopped at its entry by the lower surface 118a of a bracket 118 preferably fixed to at least two of the bearings 6 of the tanker. It should be understood that the bridge plates 116, the rollers 107 with the belts 109, and the bearings 6 are arranged in different longitudinal locations, as shown in FIG. IA.
The bar is therefore stopped just before entering the bearing 6, when the bridge plate 116 is in its intermediate position.
This is shown in phantom in fig. 4. Next, preferably in response to a precise signal provided by the electronic control of the entire arrangement, the jack 117 brings the bridge plate 116 to its most folded position, which is shown in FIG. 4 with dashes. At this time, the bar 110 which was blocked under the bracket 118 is released and comes to roll very slowly, no longer having the momentum of its rolling from the top of the stacker along the inclined plane, until halfway lower 24a of the bearing sleeve 6. Thus, the bars are brought into place in a particularly gentle manner, which is not likely to cause damage.
This variant shown in FIG. 4 gave excellent results to the tests, in cooperation with a tanker of the type shown in FIG. IA.
