To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Bnn'r J. KonI LER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brenham, in the county of lVashington and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Racks, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to display racks, and more particularly to a rotary display rack whereby the goods supported thereupon may be readily exhibited.

The primary object of the invention is to eliminate the heretofore difiicult and laborious procedure resorted to by salesmen in displaying various fabrics which consists of removing a number of bolts of material from shelving whereupon the same is exhibited and then rewound or rerolled and again placed upon the shelving, and to provide means in lieu thereof in form of a rotary display rack, said rack being provided with a plurality of bars or brackets for rotatably supporting the various bolts of material whereby the material may be readily displayed and then rewonnd so that another bolt may be brought in a position to be displayed.

The invention contemplates the provision of a rotary drum suitably supported upon a frame, and to arrange circumferentially about the roll, a plurality of receptacles for receiving the goods to be displayed; the provision of a rotatable supporting member, one end of said member being so formed as to be readily en ageable with a crank or other suitable implement, whereby the rotary supporting member may be so operated as to readily rewind the material arranged thereupon.

The invention also aims to provide a novel means whereby the rotary drum may be moved into various positions so that the material carried thereby may be readily and conveniently displayed and means whereby said drum may be securely locked in its temporary position.

Other improvements and novel details in the construction and arrangement of the various parts of the apparatus will be brought out more in detail in the description to follow, which for a clear understanding of the invention, should be considered in connecti on with the accompanying drawings forming a part thereof, and wherein is disclosed for the purpose of illustration, convenient Specification of Letters Patent.

Referring now more particularly to the drawings wherein like reference characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views thereof, 1 represents a frame member in its entirety, comprising side and end portions 2 and 3, respectively, and supporting legs generally numbered 4, the forward end of the frame having pivot-- ally secured thereto a leaf or board 5 as at 6. Rotatably mounted in the side pieces 2 of the frame, is a shaft 7, having arranged thereon a drum 8, said drum comprising substantially circular end portions9 and 10 which portions have supported therebetween and arranged transversely thereof :1 plurality of receptacles 11, rectangular in cross section. 7 2. that the heads 9 and 10 of the drum 8 are recessed at the peripheries as at 11*. The recesses 11 are formed on the inside of the heads at the peripheries, the receptacles being supported between the heads in the recesses. Still further embodiments of the inveution than those herein especially defined may be resorted to as conditions or preferences may dictate, as may be in keeping with the hereto appended claims.

I claim:

1. A rotary display rack, including drum headswith recesses, dispensing receptacles supported between said drum heads in the recesses, means arranged in said receptacles for rotatably supporting the material to be dispensed, and means for holding the drum in an adjusted position.

2. A rotary display rack, including a drum having heads provided with recesses on the inside faces, receptacles supported between the heads in the recesses, each receptacle having a slot and shaft openings, and a shaft adapted to be supported in the openings, said shaft being arranged to support a roll of goods the end of which is adapted to project through the slot.

3. A rotary display rack including a drum having heads with recesses onthe inside surfaces, one of the recesses having an aperture communicating therewith, a receptacle supported between the heads of the drum in each of the opposing pairs of recesses, and a drum shaft journaled in the receptacle with one end extending into the aperture, said end being square to receive a crank.

4. A rotary display rack including a drum, the drum including heads havin reccsses, receptacles supported between the heads in the recesses, hinged covers for the receptacles said covers having slots, shafts rotatably supported in the receptacles one end of each of the shafts being squared, said shafts being arranged to support a roll of goods, one end thereof being adaptel to extend through the slot in the cover, a support including a table for the drum, and a. guide strip on the table extending into proximity with the drum for receiving the goods as it is unrolled from the shaft.

5. A rotary display rack including a drum having heads, a supporting shaft passing through the heads, a supporting frame for receiving the shaft and forming a bearing therefor, a hinged table having a graduated edge mounted on the frame, a spring latch adapted to engage one of the drum heads for holding the drum from rotation, means for holding the spring latch out of opera tive engagement with the drum head, receptacles between the drum heads, said re ceptacles having hinged and slotted covers, goods supporting shafts in the receptacles being adapted to hold a roll of goods, the end of which being adapted to project through the slot, and a deflector upon the frame for guiding the goods from a re ceptacle onto the table into registration with the graduations.
