IMPROVEMENT IN PEN-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,443, dated April 9, 1872.
SPECIFICATION. y
I, WILLIAM J. DEWEY, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Pen- Holders, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention consists in a device for elevating the pen when laid upon a desk or table sniciently to prevent the ink from coming in contact therewith, to obviate the rolling ot' the pen-holder, and also to serve rest for the ngers'while Writing, and. also serve as a shield to protect them from being soiled by the tlow of the ink.
When the penis thrown upon the desk it will always rest on one ofthe sides of the rack, and thus it is impossible for it to roll oit', as is frequently the case with the ordinary form of holders.
Another great advantage of this device is that the pen may be laid down when charged with ink without any danger of soiling the desk or table, as the rack serves to elevate it sufliciently to prevent contact.
What l claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In combination with a pen-holder, the rack orprojection c, or its equivalent, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
