Be'it known that I, IRA SwAR'rz, a citizen of the United States, residing at Coalinga, in, the county of Fresno and State of California, have invented certain new anduseful Improvements in Well-Bailing Devices; and I do hereby declare the'following to be a full, clear, and exact'description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled'in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the acpartying drawingsahd then specifically decompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, WhlGh form a part of-th-is specification.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in bailing devices for emptying oil wells andconsists of a simple and effivarious cient. device of this nature havin details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accomned in the appended claim. I illustrate. my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which;

By the provision of a device embodying the features of my invention it will be noted that a simple and efiicient means is afforded it reaches the bottom of the well will cause a longitudinal movement to be imparted to the shell carrying the valve, thus unseating the latter and allowing the oil to enter. As the oil enters the cylinder, the lower part which is expansible becomes distended to carry the supply of oil as the device is hoisted.

What I claim to be new is A bailing device for wells, etc., comprising a tubular shell having aicircumferential shoulder, tubes fitted over said shell and abutting,against-said shoulder, one of said tubes having an interiorly beveled shoulder terminating at the ad'acent end of said shell,-

a hollow cylindrical shell movable'within one of said tubes, a stem having a split end forming fingers secured to said cylindrical shell, a ball valve with an aperture therein the wall of which is interiorly threaded to receive the threaded end of sad stem, a flexible member fastened to the ottom of -the movable cylindrical shell and provided with laterally extending openings and acentral solid portion.
