Be it known that T, ANNA M. ANCHOR- STAR, a citizen of the United States, and

resident of New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Sanitary-Seat-Cover A paratus, of which the following is a speci cation.

This invention relates to sanitary seat cover apparatus and the object of the invention is to provide a device for holding a supply of temporary sanitary seat covers for use in toilet rooms and adapted to be manufactured at a low cost and applied to toilets without requiring special tools or expensive supporting means. More particularly it is an object of my invention to provide a means for suitably supportinga supply of temporary sanitary seat covers in the form of sheets of paper adapted for the purpose. Obviously a large quantity of such sheets may be cut out at one time so as to reduce manufacturing costs.

With the above and other objects in view my invention is embodied in a sanitary seat cover apparatus arranged and constructed as set forth in the following specification while reference is had to the accompanying drawing in which- Figure 1 is a view of a seat cover embodying my invention.

Fig. 2 is a view showing a supply of such seat covers supported in position for use by means of a supporting device embodying my invention.

Fig. 3 is a view of the holding clamp or bracket for attaching the seat supporting device.

Fig. 4c is a view of the seat supporting or holding device.

Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the supply of sanitary seats are held in a different manner from that shown in Fig. 2 and supported by means of a holder difi'erent from that shown in the preceding figures.

Fig. 6 is a view of the upper hoiding loop 7 for the paper seats shown in Fig. 5.

Fig. 7 shows the belt for clamping the holder in Fig. 5 together and to the fiush pipe of the toilet.

Fig. 8 isa view of the modified holding clamp.

Fig. 9 is a view of the lower holding device shown in Fig. 5; and

Fig. 10 shows parts of my invention adapted for use with a roll of sanitary paper seats.

T propose to use temporary seat covers in the form shown in Fig. l in which the reference numeral 11 designates a sheet of paper adapted to be used for a seat cover and provided with a cut out portion 12 to fit the seat of the toilet. The sheet may be perforated at 13 to facilitate tearing it from the paper holding portion 1% which is adapted to be clamped in the paper holder by means of the apertures 15, 15. The dimensionsof the sheet is such that it will cover the toilet seat as will be understood.

TnFig. 2 the toilet in general is represented at 16 having the usual wooden seat 1? hinged at 18. The supply of the seat covers 11 is clamped in the holding device 19 which is attached to the flush pipe 20 by a suitable clamp 21. The paper seats may be simply folded or bent as shown and in order to prevent them from falling in over the toilet seat 17, a spring 22 may be attached to the clamp as shown. It is obvious that the device permits of one sheet being pulled out from the supply of sheets and placed over the seat 17, and after use torn ofi" along the perforated line 13 and thrown away. It will be noted that the device requires very little room, no special tools to install and that a large number of paper seats may be cut and prepared at one time. If th flush pipe is vertical instead of horizontal, it is within the skill of the average person to attach the device thereto for which reason the arrangementwith a vertical flush pipe is not illustrated.

The holding device 19 is shown in its component parts in Figs. 3 and 4t and comprises a clamp 21, Fig. 3, adapted to be clamped around the flush pipe by means of the bolt and wing nut 2%. The clamp has a stem 25 to which the paper holder, and. the spring 22, may be clamped by a wing nut 26.

The paper holder, Fig. 4, consists of a base member 27 provided with stud bolts 28, 28 adjustably clamped in the lbops 35 of the hanger 29 by wing nuts 30. The base memher is provided with threaded pins 31', 31 upon which the paper is mounted by the apertures 15 aforesaid, one sheet on top of the other as will be understood. When a suiiicient number of sheets has been placed in position, a top member 32 having the apertures 33 for the pins 31 is placed over the paper and clamped in an obvious manner by the nuts 23. The hanger :29 is provided with a loop 34 adapted to fit over the stem 25 of the clamp. The hanger is further bent as shown in Fig. 2 to suit local requirements.

The holding device is simple in construction and easy to make. The holding member 27 may be adjusted in any required position in the loops 35 of the hanger whereby to adjust the supply of paper seats in suitable relation to the wood seat 17.

In Fig. 5 the seats 11 are shown supported on a vertical flush pipe 36 by means of a supporting device which comprises an attaching clamp 87, an upper holding loop 38 and a lower hanger 39. The latter is of substantially the same construction as the hanger 29 and the like parts are lettered correspondingly. The hanger 39 is provided with arms 40 which are spaced a distance apart equal to the width of the paper seat 11 and in addition has two loops a1, 41 bent at a right angle to the plane of the holding member 27 so as to be adapted to be clamped on the bolt 42 and in the clamp 3'? which latter may be hinged at it so as to pass easily between the flush pipe and the wall as will be understood. The upper holding loop 38 is shown in Fig. 6 as being preferably rectangular in shape and long enough to permit passing the paper seats through the same. The loop is provided with eyes 45, 45 adapted to be clamped in the clamp 37 on the bolt 42.

The seats are secured in the lower hanger as explained above and are then folded over national the bar 48 of the upper loop 38, thence passed down through said loop as shown in Fig. 5. A separate sheet may thereafter easily be separated from the pile of sheets and spread upon the toilet seat 17 and thereafter torn 05 and thrown away.

Both the upper and the lower paper holding means are adjustable in the clamp 37 on the bolt 42 and clamped in position by the wing nut 50, So that the holding device may be adjusted on said bolt in proper relation to the toilet and the said upper and lower paper holding means be adjusted relative to each other.

It is an obvious varied use of some parts of my invention to use the hanger shown in Fig. l by substituting a rod 51, Fig. 10, upon which is placed a roll 59 of sanitary paper seats such as are known to the art and clamping said rod in position in the hanger 29 by wing nuts 28. it is further obvious that my invention is susceptible ofchanges and modifications without departing from the scope of the appended claim.

I claim:

A sanitary seat cover apparatus compris ing a supply of separate sheets of paper seats means for clamping said sheets to' gether a clamp for positioning the said sheets adjacent a. toilet seat, a hanger for supporting said clamping means from the said clamp and means for supporting the tree portion of the said sheets on the said clamp.
