IMPROVEMENT IN MILK-PAIL RESTS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 124,919, dated March 26, 1872.

SPEC FICATION.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEO. G. TAFT, of the city and county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Milk-Pail Rests; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being, had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a perspective view with the adjustable restin g-plates turned up at right angles with the pail, ready for use, as shown at A A. Fig. 2 represents an edge or side view, detached, with resting-plate A turned down against ear-plate B, out of the way, when which resting-plate will work on its hinged joint freely, opening and closing as desired, as will be more fully described.

A is the main resting-plate. B is the earplate, which is secured to the pail by screws, as shown in Fig. 1. -G D is the hinged joint,

the parts of which are held together by a rivet,

as shown in the drawing at (3, Fig. 2.

The advantage which this invention has over others of its class consists inattaching the resting-plate to the ear-piece by a hinge, thereby rendering it movable, giving the user the advantage of turning the resting-plate up when in use,-and down out of the way when I not in'use, thus doing away with all the objections which are brought against the stationary resting-plates now used.

7 Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The combination of the plate A and earpiece B, connected together by the hinge-joint D, forming an improved milk-pail rest, substantially as specified. V I
