Be it known that 1, ANDREW C. Wnisnniie, a fcitizen of the United States, and resident of Breiitwo'od, in the county of Allegheny a'nd'State of .Pennsylvania,.have invented a new and useful Improvement in 'iHeatin Stoves; and I do hereby'declare the follow ing'to' be a full, -.cl'ear, andexact description thereof.
My invention pertains to heating stoves; and it relates-especiallyato'heatingstoves of the character in which a plurality of ,gas

Detachably connected between the sides, at the front edges thereof, are afront top, and a front bottom, these latter members being centrally spaced :apart, so as to provide an opening through whichheat maybe radiatedout by means of a curved and corrugated reflector. .indicates .the back, .the longitudinal edges of which are .crimped outwardly, as at 11.
At the top, the back is formed with an outwardly extending flange 12; and at its bottom, it is formed with downward extensions 13, the latter being bent inwardly at their edges, as at 14. To the back 10 are attached a pair of sides 15 and 15. These sides are constructed similarly, except that one is the reverse of the other, and a description of one of them, therefore, will be suflicient. The side 15 is provided, along one longitudinal edge, with an inwardly extending flange 16, the edge of which flange is bent back upon itself, as at 17. At its opposite edge, the side 15 is provided, intermediate its ends, with a return flange 18, for receiving the edge of the reflector side. The side 15 is also provided with downward extensions 19, having their edges bent inward, as at 20, and are provided, at the top, with a downwardly extending flange 21, similar to the flange 12 of the back 10. The sides 15 and 15 are connected to the back 10 by engaging their bent edges 17 with crimped portions 11 of the back. In order to provide for securing the front top and front bottom to the sides, the sides are provided, above and below the flange 18, with outward return flanges 22.
The front top 23, is formed with inward flanges 24, having return edges 25, which edges engage in the return flanges 22 of the sides, when the front top is slid into place between the latter. At its upper edge, the front top is formed with an outwardly extending flange 26, similar to the flanges 12 and 21 of the back and sides respectively. At its lower edge the front top is formed with an inwardly extending flange 27. The front bottom 28 is provided with flanges 29 and 30, similar to the flanges 24 and 25 of the front top, and is secured to the sides in the same way as the front top. The front bottom is formed with downward extensions 31, having their edges turned inwardly, as at 32, and is formed with an inwardly extending flange 33 along its upper edge.
A cover 34 is provided with a slightly returned flange 35, which extends around its edges, and which cooperates with the flanges 12, 21 and 26 of the back, sides and front top respectively, whereby it is firmly .secured in position.
With the device thus far described, it will be seen that a stove casing is produced which can be put together and taken apart without the use of any tools, and which, owing to the provision of inward flanges at all cut edges, presents an appearance of solidity and substance. The downward extensions 13, 19 and 31, of the back, sides, and front bottom respectively, form legs which pro vide a firm and substantial support for the stove.
In the opening between the front top and front bottom, a corrugated reflector 36 is mounted so as to extend in a curve from the upper edge of the front bottom to the back, terminating against the back of a level somewhat below the lower edge of the front top.
The reflector 36 is secured, at its lower edge,
to the flange 36 of the front bottom 28, by means of bolts 37, which pass through the flange to the lower edge of the reflector. The reflector is formed, along its longitudinal edges, and at the back, with return flanges 38, which cobperate with similar flanges 39 formed on lugs 40 extending inwardly from segment-shaped side reflectors 41. By the engagement of the flanges 39 and 38, the reflector is retained in its proper curve and is secured in its correct position in the stove casing. The front edges of the reflector sides 41 engage behind the flanges 18 of the casing sides.

flector 36, and extending transversely across the casing, through holes in the sidesa15 and 15, is a gas-burner pipe 42, connectedat one end of an elbow 43, and having a cap 44 at the other end. With the elbow 43 is connected a supply pipe 45, the latter being held in position by a suitable clip 46, secured to the side 15 by means of a bolt 47. From the burner-pipe 42 extend a plurality of gas tips 48. By proper manipulation, in assembling, of the burner-pipe 42, with respect to the elbow 43 and cap 44, the gas tips 48 may be made to extend in the proper direction- 2'. 6., forward and slightly upward.
Immediately above the gas tips 48, an inclined baflie 49 is provided. The baflle 49 is formed with a downwardly extending rear flange, which is connected to the back 10, by means of bolts 50, and with downwardly extending side flanges 51 which are connected to the sides 15 and 15 by means of bolts 52. The front edge of the baffle 49 is curved, as at 53, so as readily to direct the burnt gases into the chamber 54 formed between the baffle 49 and the cover 34.
The stove described above has an extremely high heating efliciency, and, as will be seen, its construction is such that it can be produced at an exceedingly low cost, the majority of the manufacturing steps being merely stamping operations. Furthermore, the stove is so constructed that it can be very easily assembled by an unskilled person, no tools being required, unless, perhaps, a screw-driver for tightening the few bolts which are used. However, even these latter can quite easily be manipulated by hand. This has the advantage that the stove may be shipped in knockdown form, thereby mawhat I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A heating stove, a casing having an opening at the front thereof, and a reflector within said casing, said reflector comprising a corrugated plate secured to said casing at the lower edge of said opening, and a pair of segment-shaped side plates disposed within the sides of said casing, and secured at their front edges in grooves formed on said sides, at said opening, the curved edges of said side plates having a sliding flange connection with said corrugated plate, thereby to detachably secure said corrugated plate in a curved position.
2. A heating stove comprising a back, a pair of sides having a sliding flange connection with said back, a front top having a sliding flange connection with said sides, a front bottom having a sliding flange connection with said sides, a corrugated reflector plate secured, at its lower edge, to the upper edge of said front bottom, and a pair of segment-shaped side reflector plates, mounted against the inner faces of said sides, and secured at their front edges in grooves formed on said sides, said side reflector plates having a sliding flange connection with said corrugated plate, for the purposes set forth.
