in the Army of the United States of America, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Match-Boxes, of which tion. e

The object of this invention is to so construct the box that one end of the main or outer casing of the box may be conveniently employed as a chamber for lighting cigars or cigarettes, as more fully hereinafter set forth.

My box consists of the usual open-ended rectangular outer casing a and the .usual tray or drawer b fitted thereinto and adapted to slide outwardly in either direction. On the outer face of one end wall of the tray a suitable abrasive material c is applie and in one side wall of the tubular outer casing is form'ed a hole d, this hole being located a short distance from one end of the casing.

The nature and scope of the invention having been thus indicated and its preferred embodiment having 'been specificallyv described, what is claimed as new is:

In a match box, a main casing open at itsv ends and having one of its edge walls provided with a small match-receiving hole near one end, and a slidable tray fitting in the main casing and having an abrasive material' applied to the outer face of that one of its end walls whiclis adjacent to said hole.`
