To all 'whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, MAY L. BURKE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New London, in the county of New London, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Non-Refillable Bottles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full,l clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in bottles and particularly to nonretillable bottles.
One object of the present invention is to provide a device which can be inserted in the neck of a bottle and by means of which the outiiow of liquid is facilitated while the inflow is prevented.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a novel and simple as well as vcheap device of this character and one in which attempts to insert a tool for the purpose of holding the valve in open position is effectively prevented.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing.

Referring particularly to the accompanying drawing 10 represents a metal or other tubular member, on the opposite 'sides of the upper edge of which are formed the vertically extending arms 11. Cast integrally with the arms are two superimposed disks 12 and 13, the upper one of which is disposed on the upper ends of the arms while the other one is disposed between the arms. In the upper disk, and adjacent one edge, there are formed a plurality of openings or slits 14 for the passage of the contents of the bottle therethrough, while in the lower disk there are formed similar openings 15, adjacent the other edge. Thus the openings of the upper disk are out of vertical alinement with the openings of the lower disk, thereby preventing the insertion of a wire or other thin tool.
Resting on the upper edge of the tubular portion of the device is a semi-circular plate, the straight edge of which is directed toward the center of the tube, said plate being represented by the reference character le. Hinged to the straight edge of the plate l@ is a second similar plate 17, the straight edge of which is connected to the straight edge of the iirstplate, as clearly shown in Fig. The pintle 18 of this hinged connection of the plates extends through the lower per tions of said arms, as shown in the drawing. Thus when the bottlef in the neck 20 of which the device is properly secured, is inverted the weight of the liquid contents will swing the plate into open position and permit the outiiow of said contents. When the bottle is placed in upright position the plate will swing downwardly inte closed pesition on its seat, which is the upper edgeV of the tubular portion of the device.
