EVAB?ORTION-ELEFRIGERATOR.
Application filed August l, i916. Serial To @ZZ whom t ymay concern.'
Be 1t known that l. Rhin-irri R. BARRINGER, a. citizen of the United States, residing at `Grand Junction, in the county ci' Mesa and' 'State of Colo. cio, have invented certain new and useful lrngjiroyenients in E'aporation-Refrigerators, of which the following is a specilication, r rence being hed to the accompanying drawings.
This inve `crates to the art of refrigeration and p: ticularly to reirigerating eppliances based upon the principle ol evaporating water from the surface of a water ehsorbent contain?.
The general. inl invention is the provision oi n. ferating device which comprises an euer water container formed of such materiel that the water may evaporate from the exterior surface thereof and :in inner food receptacle inclcsed Within the container. the evaporation of the water from the container acting to fool the water within the container and this relatively low teinperature being' coninnmicated to the food.
A further object of this invention is the provision of reirigcrating device comprising a food reoptacle and an outer double walled long i ed to hold'water and per,- mit the eyapo",ticn o' the Water from the outer surface there being ineans provided wherein' .recess may he had to the interior of the itacle.
@their obje lia to do with the detailed i' the receptacle ent.. the water construction o.: beg.
My invention is Vistrated in the aecoinsectional view Figure l is vice constructed through a i in accordance with niy invention;
Fig. 2 is n iront elevation of the device with the walls thereof broken away to show the interior or the construction; and
Fig. 3 is e lperspective view or" the water hav.
Fig. 4 is vertical sectional view of a modified forni o1"- rcrigerating receptacle.
Referring to tl :se ligures,it will be seen that my invention comprises an outer container or heg, as it be termed, designetecl generally l0, which may he ot' any suitable form, lout is illustrated es approximately quadrenguler and which is formed of canvas cr like material which will permit a slight amount of water to pass through -the meshes of the canvas and he evaporated Speceatcn of'Letters letent.

from thc surface. thereof. The outer container is formed of a plurality of pieces of' material stitched to each other in the ordinary fashion. Disposed within lthe outer container and in .spaced relation thereto, there is an inner wall or container ll, also made of canvas, ond also quadrangular in torin, the front wall of this inner container being stitched to the front wall of the outer container as at 152. lit will he seen 'that a. water space 13 is formed between the outer and inn'erwalls. The front oli' the. outer container and the corresponding side of the innercontainer are formed to provide an opening 14 whereby access may he had to the interior of the inner container, this open- Ving heing normally closed by a flap l5 of vcanvas or like material which is stitched to said front wall ing" 14.
Disposed within the 4inner container l1 is a receptacle 1S illustrated as quadrangular v in forni, and illustrated as formed of foraniinated sheet metal, though it may be inade of wire gauze or any other suitable stiil materiel which will hold the inner container expended andperinit the placing of Ifood within the inner container. The top 17' and hangs below the openof the receptacle is not perforated. 8
F or the purpose of sustaining the inner end of the inner container ll and of the re'- ceptacle 16, l provide the straps or hands 18 which extend downward from the upper rear corners of thc outer container and are connected to the upper rear corners of the inner container, these hands being inade'of canvas, leather, or other flexible material. Eyes lO'are attached to the rear wall of the outer container at the upper ond thereof, as shown clearly in Fig. 8 and it will be seen that the weight of the food receptacle and its contents will he carried hy the bends 18 directly to these corners oi' the outer container which are providedy with the eyes 19. These eyes ll) are toithe purpose'of suspending' the container. The upper wall of the outer container formed with a water inlet nipple 20, closed hy e cap 2l, and lthe side wall, of the container l0 at its lower end is formed with an outlet nipple 2Q closed by a cap The flap or door may he hold closed by any suitable catch and 'I have shown for this purpose e socket Q4: and a stud 25 cngagezihlc therewith.
ln Fig. 4 l show e vertical sectional view\ through a modified forni of container which formed of material.
