PATENT OFFICE.
PETER DELICH, O18 NOPEIVIING', MINNESOTA.
CUP.
Application filed November 12, 1923.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Pn'rnn DnLIoH, a subject of the King of Serbia, residing at llopeming, in the county of St. Louis and a itate of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Cups, of which. the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to receptacles and has special reference to a novel form of knocked down receptacle particilarly designed for use as a cup, either for drinking purposes, egg cup, or the like; it being preferably of a formrepresentative of an egg.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a convenient form of knocked down cup, which may be easily and safely transported from place to place, and used for a number of purposes.
@ther objects and advantages of the invention will appear in the further descrip tion thereof.
Referring to the accompanying drawing forming part of this application, and in which like reference characters indicate like parts:
liigure l is a side elevation of the improved receptacle knocked down and assembled for transportation;
Figure 2 is a vertical transverse sectional view of Figure 1, showing the relative positions of the various parts; and
Figure 3 is a side elevation of the device assembled as a drinking or egg cup.
T he major portion of the receptacle ("omprises the body 1., and cap or cover 2, the latter being provided with an externally screw threaded stepped edge 3, which is screw threadedly mounted within the upper open end of the body portion 1, and, when thus united, resembles the general form of a large egg.
The lower end of the body portion 1 is preferably increased in thickness and provided with an internally screw threaded hole into which may be screwed, either from the interior or the exterior of the body portion, the shank at of the pedestal or support 5 of the cup.
l l hen the pedestal 5 is attached from the interior of the cup it will appear as shown Serial No. 674,393.
therethrough, particularly for appearancesake, and transverse the central portion thereof, is a web 7, the ob ect of which is to provide means for finger and lllllll'llb manipulation of the pedestal in screwing it either to or from the body portion of the receptacle.
From the foregoing it is apparent that l: have devised an exceedingly simple and attractive form of knocked down receptacle and one of such shape as to permit of the maximum amount of use, without breakage when knocked down, and one pleasing in appearance when assembled, it being evident that the same may be constructed of any kind of material desired, such, for example as aluminum, silver, gold, or
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
A receptacle of the type described comarising a )rinciiial bodv )ortion and a separable cap therefor, said cap and body portion when. united being substantially egg shaped and hollow, a pedestal for said body portion screw threadedly unitable to the lower end thereof either externally or internally, the hollow base of said pedestal being somewhat similar in shape to the interior of the body portion and snugly fitting therein below the line of separation between the body portion and the cap, and a. diametrically disposed web transverse the hollow base portion and formed integral therewith for the purpose described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my signature in the presence of two witnesses:
PETER DELICH. lVitnesses S. Gno. S'rnvnNs, S. C. BRONSON.
